The iconic drummer’s life was cut short after an apparent drug overdose.
We reported the shocking news over the weekend.
The Foo Fighters have been on their South America tour and were in Bogota, Colombia when Hawkins was found dead.
Hollywood Continues To Mourn Taylor Hawkins
On Friday, March 25, the rock band released a statement confirming the passing of their dear friend.
“The Foo Fighters family Is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins. His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time,” their statement read.
At the time of the release of this statement, no official cause of death had been determined; however, in the days following Hawkins’ passing an official cause was discovered.
On Saturday night, a Columbian journalist revealed that Hawkins had allegedly passed away from a drug overdose.
Columbian journalist Luis Carlos Velez tweeted, “#BreakingNews – #TaylorHawkins died of overdose. Colombian authorities found: marijuana, antidepressants, opioids, heroin. At least 10 different substances found, sources of @FiscaliaCol tells me. Official report soon.”
A “white powder” was also found in his room.
Hawkins Wanted To Hang With Stamos Prior To His Death
“Full House” actor John Stamos is speaking out in the wake of his friend’s death.
Soon after the news of his death hit headlines, Stamos took to Twitter to share Hawkins’ last text he sent to him.
This was Taylor Hawkins’ last text to me: “Ya We’ve yet to fully have a hang -Got a put that shit together before we die” Wise words from my friend- put that shit together! I’m so fucking sad. Another one gone too soon.

He wrote, “This was Taylor Hawkins’ last text to me: ‘Ya We’ve yet to fully have a hang -Got a put that s**t together before we die.’ Wise words from my friend- put that s**t together! I’m so f**king sad. Another one gone too soon.”
Hawkins’ death comes a little over two months after Stamos’ other friend, Bob Saget, died unexpectedly.
Bob Saget Spoke About Death With Stamos Before His Passing
In the days following Saget’s death, Stamos shared details of their last hangout together.
Stamos revealed he last hung out with Saget one month before his death.
The BFFs went on a double date with their wives, Caitlin McHugh and Kelly Rizzo.
“Bob was always worried about everyone else, but he talked about death a lot. His wife, Kelly Rizzo, said she had a premonition. I didn’t see it. The last time we were all together, we went on a double date to Nobu, maybe a month before he passed away,” Stamos said.
The actor continued explaining that Saget never looked like a guy who was “going to die.”
“He was very calm, which was odd for Bob,” Stamos continued. “He was at peace somehow. And he listened and he was thoughtful and didn’t interrupt; he cared about what we were saying. I hate to say it, but it was the Bob that I always wanted to see. And it was the last time I saw him.”
Both Saget and Hawkins spoke about death in their final interactions with Stamos. The similarities are eerie to say the very least.
