"Love & Hip Hop: New York" stars Erica Mena recently announced that their divorce has been finalized.
Mena and Safaree Samuels tied the knot in October 2019 after getting engaged on Christmas Eve in 2018. They have two kids; their daughter Safire was born in 2020, and their son Legend was born the following year.
Before their second child's birth, the video vixen officially filed for divorce from Safaree, and it seems like their marriage is truly over following her public declaration of being divorced.
Erica Mena Celebrates Post-Divorce Freedom While Partying In A Tampa Club
The American reality TV star is officially divorced, and she celebrated her newfound freedom in what appeared to be a club in Tampa based on The Shade Room's post.
Mena wore a revealing hot pink outfit and announced through a microphone, "I said I'm officially divorced." She seemed pretty excited as she shared the news. The crowd cheered her on, and she continued saying:
"We celebrating life, we celebrating freedom, and we celebrate that we bad b*tches, and we run this mother f***er."
Mena concluded her announcement by twerking to a song while people shouted their approval. The night was one of celebration for the former model as she partied herself into a new chapter of her life.
Last year, The Blast revealed details of Mena and Safaree's divorce just after Mena's pregnancy announcement. The onscreen icon believed her marriage was "irretrievably broken" and had had enough.
The 34-year-old requested primary custody of their daughter and wanted to share joint legal custody of the two kids after their second child's birth.
Furthermore, the divorce documents revealed that she wanted to "have final decision-making authority over legal custody matters," child support, and have sole use of the home she shared with Safaree.
The papers showed that the reality stars were legally separated; however, fans were not too eager to believe as the pair were known for their social media bickering and the following reconciliation.

Before the divorce announcement, the 40-year-old rapper reportedly mentioned that he was "walking away" from the marriage and went on to call the union a big mistake.
He has thrown insults at his ex-wife severally, but Mena did not let those slide as she gave her shots in return, revealing how uncaring the music star was about his daughter.
Wendy Williams got involved in the former couple's dispute as she stated that since Safaree always ran to social media like a little girl, she might as well be a part.
She sided with Mena and further called the "Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood" star the most selfish, vain, and inconsiderate person regarding his daughter.
The mother-of-three and her former spouse got back together following the clash, and she even shaded Williams for talking about their marriage on her show.
Safaree Samuels Shares New Practice Following Divorce Announcement
As The Blast reported last August, Mena was pretty happy after the divorce announcement as she had her kids to herself, and Safaree was not around.
She shared her new practice where she set phone reminders every day to alert her to her past with her ex when he cheated. They were also to remind her that she was never going backward.
Before the divorce, Mena and Safaree had a fallout, and the songwriter was forced to tell people to stop prying into his role as a father.
He stated, "I don't need or want sympathy from anybody, but before you wonder about how my relationship with my kids, just know that they are on their way to a great childhood."
Safaree insisted that everything viewers saw on television was insignificant and just TV sh**t. He also claimed that he was with his kids every time, even though he did not show himself with them.
The musician felt he needed to defend himself following Mena's mean remarks about him being a terrible husband and a never-around father. He wrote on Twitter:
"I’m sick of this fake ass narrative too like I’m a deadbeat. I don’t want a treat for being with my kids but don’t act like I’m not with my kids becuz y’all don’t see kids live in a mansion, and that’s because of me! I’m with them all the time!
As you may know, the reality TV couple struggled to have a healthy relationship, including parenting which was reflected in "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta."
