He shared a photo of the actor and his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith, 50, on Instagram.

"He loves his wife," Odom began. "I do not condone violence against anyone. @willsmith loves @jadapinkettsmith I was told love covers a multitude of sins.♥️"

The "Celebrity Big Brother" alum continued, "I see everyone arguing the merits of this altercation, taking side, dragging them both to hell when it all boils down to love. He loves his wife. She was hurting, it is a husband’s responsibility to protect his wife," adding, "That is what he vowed to God and her, he owes us ZERO explanation as to why he chose to hit @chrisrock , he did what a husband is called to do. Protect his wife, from anything and anyone who causes her pain."

The situation made Odom reflect on his marriage with the reality star, writing, "Had I protected my wife versus mentally, emotionally and spiritually hurting her, I may still be married."

He added, "Lets use this as a teaching moment, lets learn to set boundaries, lets learn to be humble, lets learn to embrace and forgive each other in the midst of our trials and tribulations versus sitting on a throne of judgement."

Odom also noted, "Last I checked we (the peanut gallery ?) do not have a heaven or hell to put anyone in. Same thing that makes you laugh will bring you to your knees."

The "Khloé & Lamar" star concluded his message by writing, "Sending good vibes only. Check my story I am in need of some services!?? Love y’all for loving and supporting me ~ LO."

While many agreed with Odom, there were also plenty of followers who were not so happy with his words.

"I am a huge fan of yours but we have to agree to disagree on this one," commented a fan.

"Stop with the not condoning violence BS. We have all had fights. Yall condoned rioting and looting in 2020 for a man you didn't know. Black folks say they don't condone violence but brag how they spank their kids. You don't condone violence when it comes to defending a Black woman," quipped another Instagrammer.

The comedian made a joke about Jada's appearance, which made Smith go on stage and struck Rock in the face. The joke was based on the 1997 film "G.I. Jane" in which Demi Moore shaved her head for the role. It was unclear whether Rock was aware that the Red Table Talk host has a disease called alopecia that causes hair loss.

Smith has since apologized to Rock. Read his statement here.
