So it seems all the excitement of last night has simmered down as Diddy, as in Sean Combs has confirmed that both Will Smith and Chris Rock have buried the hatchet. This, after Will Smith, took offense at Chris Rock cracking a joke and smacked him right in the face.
Had Smith been wearing gloves and was this "Bridgerton", right now the ladies would be swooning at a duel.
After an apology tacked on to his acceptance speech for Best Actor, with no mention of Chris Rock, Smith shook off the incident and was seen shaking a leg at Vanity Fair's Oscar Afterparty.
Will Smith Seemed To Be In Great Spirits
The 53-year-old best actor winner clinched the Oscar for his performance in “King Richard" and despite the earlier unpleasantness, seemed to be in a great mood. He arrived at the Vanity FairOscar Party just after midnight with a large entourage and once in, hit the dance floor with alacrity.
“Congratulations Will Smith, I love you!” shouted DJ D-Nice, probably wanting to avoid another slap, and began to play a medley of Smith’s ’90s hits. The "Pursuit of Happyness" star danced as he sang along to tracks like “Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It”, “Miami” and "Summertime".

He danced with Jada, his kids, and of course his statue, and the only sign of unpleasantness of the slap was the extra attention Smith received. From everyone.
"Daily Show” host Trevor Noah gave Smith a long hug, whispering in his ear as Smith laughed while Ricky Martin thumped his chest before extending his congratulations. Smith shook hands, smiled, clanked statues, and posed with stars and strangers alike. And then, with a mob following him, he climbed into an SUV to leave, holding his Oscar triumphantly in the air.

Son Jaden Smith, who's already shown his support on social media, stayed behind to party and shouted “I love you! You did it!”
Will Smith Prophesized Chaos

Before the violent scene on the international stage of the 2022 Academy Awards, Smith had posted a video to Instagram of him and Jada with a montage of pictures clip showing them posing together. He had captioned it, "Me ‘n @jadapinkettsmith got all dressed up to choose chaos."
And obviously, chaos ensued when Rock cracked a joke, at the wrong time.
After the words, the slap, and more words, Smith obviously knew that him smacking Rock was all people could talk about, so he made a little joke on Instagram. ‘You can’t invite people from Philly or Baltimore nowhere!!!’ the Oscar-winner joked on the same "chaos" post as he hails from Philadelphia while his wife Jada is from Baltimore.
Diddy Confirms: 'It's Over'
After the slap and an unnerved Chris Rock managing to do his bit, Sean Combs came onto the stage to defuse the situation. At the time, he said, “Will and Chris, we’re going to solve this like family. Right now we’re moving on with love. Everybody make some noise.”
Later, when asked about the fight at the Vanity Fair party, Combs said, "That’s not a problem. That’s over. I can confirm that. It's all love. They’re brothers."
He also said more in his Instagram Stories. "I know sh*t is crazy. You know — sh*t happens sometimes.
He continued to say, "Chris Rock got a chin though. It's all love" though. We're going to move on with love."
Meanwhile, there have been reports suggesting that the Oscar organizers debated if Will Smith had to be removed from his seat. "Basically there were just minutes to first figure out if it was a stunt and then try and get people on the same page — including the producers, ABC, the Academy, reps who were not all in the same place or all looking at their phones in real-time, and even to see if Chris wanted to press charges." Luckily for Will Smith, Rock didn't.
