Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkinspassed away suddenly at 50 years old.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame rock band announced the news on Twitter, saying, “The Foo Fighters family Is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins,” the band wrote in a brief statement. “His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.”
No cause of death was given. Many are sharing their condolences for the late drummer, including friend John Stamos, who recently lost close friend Bob Saget earlier this year.
Before His Death, Taylor Hawkins Said ‘We Gotta Put That Together Before We Die’
John Stamos revealed Hawkins’ last text message, which was eerily poignant.
Stamos tweeted, “This was Taylor Hawkins' last text to me: ‘Ya We’ve yet to fully have a hang -Got a put that s--- together before we die’ Wise words from my friend- put that s--- together! I'm so f---ing sad. Another one gone too soon.”
“So sorry for your loss. Good message for anyone. Tomorrow I am going to say good bye to my niece who will be taken off life support,” another fan shared. “A sad reminder we never know what life will bring and make sure those we love know it. Last night I saw your old movie Wedding Wars loved it.”
“It's been an endless line of deaths the last few years... and getting younger and younger. With no signs of health issues,” another commented.
“I'm so sorry... Please hug your loved ones. Spend time with them because you never know when/or if, you'll ever see them again,” said another. “I know, I lost my youngest daughter unexpectedly... Let's hold on to the memories for the ones we've lost, until we see them again. RIP”
“I am very sorry. I’m about your age, and despite abundant evidence to the contrary, we tend to think there’s ample time to get around to things we haven’t done,” another wrote. “When we’re right, we don’t notice. When we’re wrong, it’s a gut punch. So sorry.”
