Megan Thee Stallion is set to star in a new multi-part documentary directed by "The Legend of the Underground" filmmaker Nneka Onuorah. Onuorah is also the mind behind the upcoming dance competition series featuring rapper and singer Lizzo.

With how popular and successful the rapper has become in recent years, it is no surprise that there is a documentary under production to explore her life and how she grew into the star she is today.

The documentary series will be co-produced by Time Studios and Roc Nation, the label to which the "Savage" rapper is signed. Read on to find out more about the documentary and what part of Megan's life and career the documentary will cover.

The Docuseries Will Explore Megan's Life And Career

The multi-part documentary is yet to be titled and will delve into the childhood and career path of the Grammy-winning rapper and musician. It will explore Megan's beginnings in Houston, Texas and the hurdles she faced in her personal and professional life, and how these stages have shaped her personality and career.

As per The Wrap, The documentary will use footage of Megan through the years that will timeline how the "Captain Hook" rapper grew from a viral freestyling phenomenon into a global icon. In 2020, Megan was included in Time Magazine's list of the 100 most influential people in the world.

Onuorah will produce the docu-series in conjunction with Time Studios' Loren Hammonds, Ian Orefice, Mike Beck, Alexa Conway, Roc Nation's Lori York, Andy Desiree Perez.

The documentary is a collaboration between Time Studios and Roc Nation, the label to which Megan is signed. The two companies have released statements on the documentary and how excited they are to produce and release it.

Time Studios' co-head of documentary Loren Hammonds said, "We are thrilled to be able to work with Roc Nation to share Megan's story with the world. Millions of people are familiar with her as an entertainer, but this series will give her a chance to share her truth as never before. Her story is a powerful one, and the accomplishments that she continues to achieve are remarkable."

Onuorah Has An Impressive Resume

Onuorah is a very talented Nigerian-American producer and filmmaker with an impressive resume. She directed Lizzo's new competition series titled "Watch Out For the Big Grrrls." The competition show premieres on Amazon Prime Video this March, and fans are very excited.

She also recently directed an A24 musical documentary about the life and career of Broadway phenom Ayodele Casel. She was also the directorial mind for President Obama in Higher Ground's "The G Word," which streams on Netflix.

Time Studios, however, is the company behind the wildly popular "jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy" documentary that recently premiered on Netflix. The documentary follows the beginnings and career growth of rapper Kanye West.

Megan Is In A Lawsuit With Her Former Record Label

Before Megan signed her management agreement with Roc Nation in 2019, she was caught up with several issues concerning her former record label, 1501 Entertainment. She had spoken about her problems with the label on her Instagram severally and expressed her desire to be free of it.

In a now-deleted Instagram post, the "Thot Shit" rapper alleged that she has never received any payment from her former label "in her life." She recently sued 1501 Entertainment again for refusing to allow her to fulfill the terms stated in her contract with them.

She also sought a ruling that her music project "Something for Thee Hotties" meets an album's legal definition and requirements. In response, the music label countersued for breach of contract and stated the project doesn't constitute an album.
