Thingamabob Is Revealed To Be NFL Star Jordan Mailata!

During this episode, Thingamabob – from Team Cuddly – sang “Classic” by MKTO. None of the judges were able to correctly guess Mailata’s identity.

Robin Thicke thought it was “Aquaman” actor Jason Mamoa and then switched his guess to three-time defensive player of the year J.J. Watt.

Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg went with Michael Strahan, given his love of dogs.

Ken Jeong thought it was someone from Australia, but went with “The Hunger Games” actor Liam Hemsworth.

Nicole Scherzinger picked Dennis Rodman, taking the bulldog clue to mean the Chicago Bulls.

Nick Cannon Is Shocked To Find That Jordan Mailata Is A Great Singer!

After his unmasking, host Nick Cannon exclaimed, “My man! Who knew that you had those type of skills?”

“One thing we must say, I mean, that voice man, we would never know that an NFL player had such range, such ability,” Cannon said.

“I’ve been singing all my life,” Jordan replied. “I tell everybody that I meet.” He joked, “Yeah, I did a good job of hiding my [Australian] accent, didn’t I?”

“I was a singer first before I played any sort of athlete,” he continued. “I play rugby in Australia, and, you know, I decided four years ago to try to take a step on the other side of the water, in the NFL, and [it] ended up paying off. And so this is kind of massive.”

Nicole Scherzinger also asked what his nationality was and thanked him for representing Pacific Islanders when he revealed that he was Samoan.

“I just wanna say thank you so much for welcoming me here,” he concluded. “This has been an incredible experience for me, and I just wanted to say, you know, if you wanna do something, just do it. Just do it. Have fun doing it as well.”

Jordan Mailata Reveals He Wasn’t Expecting A Call From ‘The Masked Singer’

In an interview with Variety, Mailata revealed that he was shocked when his agent told him that he had been invited to perform on “The Masked Singer.”

“When my agent called me, I thought maybe he found out that I’m going to the Pro Bowl,” he recalled. “And he’s like, ‘I’ve got something better.’ It took me a while to appreciate the offer because I’m so tunnel vision during the season. Football came first. But after talking to my girlfriend and her relentlessly encouraging me to do it, that it was a once in a lifetime opportunity, I decided to go all in with it. And we traveled out to Cali and started filming right away.”

Mailata added that he loves to sing, whether he’s at home, in the car, or even at work. “It’s getting to the point where the guys are like, ‘we get it, you can sing!’” he joked. “I just love singing, whatever song it is.”

Although he said that football will come first, he definitely wants to pursue singing, which he called “a passion of mine.”

“Football will always be first. It’s what got me to this platform and what’s paying the bills,” he said. “And after the whole experience being on the ‘Masked Singer,’ it’s something that I am considering now. In the offseason, do I record albums or write songs? Because it is a passion of mine. Do I share that passion a lot more than I have in the past? It’s something that I’m still trying to figure out if I have time to do that.”

Last night’s episode also witnessed the unmasking of the Cyclops.
