Jimmy Kimmel Says Sykes Is ‘Getting Robbed’

Wanda’s revelation about her wife comes a day after she made an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” While chatting with host Jimmy Kimmel about the award show, the pair began comparing notes on the salary for hosting.

The “Black-ish” star revealed that she had no idea that hosting such a prestigious award show would be so low-paid.

“I was real excited about that, but then I realized, out of all the jobs that I have, this one is actually gonna cost me money,” she confessed.

Kimmel, who had previously hosted the award ceremony, confirmed that the salary wasn’t well-paying, revealing that he only got paid $15,000.

The late-night show host shared that people always think that the Oscars is a one-day job, but      in reality, “it’s months of work leading up to it.”

As for what Wanda is earning for her role, she answered, “I don’t even know it’s, like, scale probably,” to which Kimmel said that it’s possible all three hosts would share a fee similar to his salary.

The show host concluded the discussion, telling Wanda to renegotiate her contract. “You’re getting robbed. You know what? Hold out right now because they need hosts, you know,” he said.

To which Wanda joked, “Well, I’ve already decided I’m just going to steal an Oscar.”
