Dwayne Johnson seems to be getting back into the good graces of his fans as one of his recent posts garnered millions of likes, although, to us, it looked just a tad painful.
As The Rock puts it, "Hardest workers in the room, win the race. [The] smartest workers in the room, win the journey. You guys keep gettin’ after your health & fitness goals - and I always got your back." And his 305 million Instagram followers have got his.
First Off, Don't Let The Flower Fool You
Before Johnson, one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood began his leg day, he shot a small snippet of him wearing a frangipani flower behind his ear, with a clear-cut message, "Don’t let this beautiful island flower 🌸 fool you, I’m still a badass MF. In my mind… where it counts, right!?"
And then he also wrote, "Let's get to work".
Fans wished him all the best for leg day, but one had the ultimate comeback, "Flowers are bada**, the storms they weather..."

He then made sure to down a bottle of Zoa, to impress upon his fans that he started his workouts with a can of "plus-ing energy", to coax them into trying it out. Johnson may not play the brightest of characters in the movies, given all that brawn, but he is proving to be a savvy businessman as both Zoa and his tequila brand, Teremana seem to be rising to the top rather quickly.
Dwayne Johnson Gives Tips On 'Brutal Leg Day'
Most gym-goers would agree, leg days are indeed brutal because they tire you out like nothing else, and developing leg muscles usually proves to be the toughest.
This is why Johnson shared a rather ripped shot of his legs showing off some really corded thigh muscles as he wrote, "Absolutely brutal leg training today but, always grateful to put the work in and do my best to raise my personal bar. You’ll see the weight I use is never an insanely heavy amount. Tons of guys who are WAY stronger than I am, but because of all my injuries (5 knee surgeries, ruptured Achilles, torn quadricep off my pelvis, torn abdomen wall, complete shoulder reconstruction, etc.) I’ve learned it’s not how much weight we use, but rather the quality of the reps and mind/muscle connection that matters most."
He also gave plenty of tips and what his leg day workout entailed, further writing, "Today's training sesh consisted of a 25-30min warm up - core work, foam roller, stretching and then quad, hams & glute activation - leg extensions, leg curls, glute abductions, and single-leg glute drives.
Then GIANT SETS begin.
*4-5 sets of 4-5 exercises per set.
Rep range 15-20.
No rest between exercises.
Slow, intense, controlled reps with multi-second negatives - increasing weight every set.
Single leg reps to double leg and moving foot positions and stance to hit all angles and muscles effectively.
To close it out I’ll finish with walking chain lunges (120lbs) to failure and superset with Romanian deadlifts. Slow and super controlled on the deadlifts with a 1-second pause at the bottom.
Leg training complete.
Brutal."
We agree because just listening to all this gave us breathlessness.
Here's Johnson's leg, and gear!

Fans Love Dwayne Johnson's Honesty
Johnson was also happy to share his breakfast of the day, before the leg day, because obviously, he needed a ton of protein to get to it and so wrote, "Training legs this morning so I need the energy, protein, fats, carbs + sugar boost to optimize the intense workout and keep muscles full & ready for this eventual whole a**-kicking I’m about to give myself."
He ate egg whites, grilled bison, avocado, plain oatmeal with papaya, and finally, English muffins with peanut butter + honey."
Slurp.
Wrote one blown-away fan, "Amen mate I appreciate you using your platform say these things for the young guys coming up."
Another Instagram user also appreciated the legs and the fact that Johnson wrote about his next cheat meal, saying, "My brother! Legs are looking amazing! I destroyed my legs today too now about to have my cheat meal! I hope you had an amazing day and treated yourself to a great cheat meal too like you always do, and spent some good quality time with your amazing family! God bless brother stay SWOLL!"
Meanwhile, not only is Johnson proud of his legs and crushing a leg day, he appreciates his Jenga skills as well, writing, "Dude wins one game of Jenga and thinks he’s ready for his monthly MENSA meeting.
Get [NASA] on the phone."
And ends it with, "98% sure my kids let me win..."

Even this is enough to get him more than 1.7 million views because he's The Rock, and as solid as they get, right?
