First up, on April 2, is Jerrod Carmichael taking his turn as host. Gunna will be the musical guest for that episode.
A week later, on April 9, actor Jake Gyllenhaal will be stepping up to host, and “Bam Bam” singer Camilla Cabello will be the musical guest, most likely to promote her new album, “Familia.” Finally, on April 16, Lizzo will both host and be the musical guest.
There have been 42 episodes in which the show’s host has also served as the musical guest, with the most recent being “happier than ever” singer Billie Eilish on December 11, 2021. The first host to do double duty was Paul Simon on October 18, 1975.
“So excited for Lizzo pulling double duty come April 16th. #SNL,” one fan wrote.
“LIZZO DOUBLE DUTY LET’S GO,” another commented.
“Something tells me @lizzo is going to be one not to miss,” another added. “I feel like she’ll be one of the hosts that influences their episode and will bring some originality and creativity to the sketches that night.”
Fans Are Excited To See Camila Cabello Perform On ‘SNL’ Again!
So excited to see Camila Cabello perform on SNL. Her performances in 2019 on the show are still my favorite of all time. I really hope this time she gets to do some skits. I was so impressed with her comedic timing/skills in Cinderella, she will be perfect for SNL skits. Thanks! pic.twitter.com/vbqQoKIKex
