More than a month after "The Walking Dead" star Moses J. Moseley was found dead, authorities have given an update about the cause of his demise.
As you might know, Moseley passed away at 31 in early February due to gunshot wounds. Following a long investigation by authorities, it remains unsure if the shooting was intentional or accidental.
Moses J. Moseley Found Dead At 31
As The Blast previously reported, Moseley, who was known for his role as one of Michonne's zombies, died under mysterious circumstances at 31.
Per reports, Moseley's body was found by his family in a vehicle in the Hudson Bridge area of Stockbridge, Georgia, with a gunshot wound.
Before his body was found, the actor's family hadn't heard from him for days and resorted to filing a missing person's report.
They contacted OnStar to track Moseley's vehicle, which led to finding his body. At the time, a family member confirmed that Moseley's died from the gunshot wound.
His manager Tabatha Minchew confirmed his devastating demise in a heartbreaking statement. "Everyone loved Moses. He never met a stranger. He loved his fans as much as his family and friends. He was always excited to get auditions and work," she said.
Minchew continued, "He was a great friend for 10 years or more. He was the kind of person who you could call in the middle of the night if you needed to talk or needed anything. He will be deeply missed by so many, his friends, family, costars, and fans."
Authorities Believed It Was Suicide, Family Thought Otherwise
Given the positioning of Moseley's body, police suspected that it was suicide. However, the actor's family heavily calmed down on the narrative.
Last month, during an interview with TMZ, Moseley's sister declared that the family believed it was impossible it was suicide because of how much he loved life.
The grieved sister shared that Moseley had a taping booked for the Monday after he was found, proving that he was excited about the prospect of his acting career.
She alleged that her younger brother was kidnapped for three days and then murdered, explaining that the gun was carefully placed on his thighs and the doors were locked.
The doting sister also explained that the gun retrieved from the crime scene was hers, but she and Moseley were regular visitors at the gun range, and both had licenses to carry.
Authorities seemingly backed up Moseley's sister's claim that his death was not a suicide in an investigation update shared weeks later. Although the captain of the police department didn't fully rule out suicide, he stated that foul play might have been involved.
Reports from the investigation show that the blood splatter in the vehicle did not necessarily align with suicide. Also, the bullet's trajectory, which entered a point below Moseley's eyes and remained lodged in his skull, seemed suspicious.
Moseley's Death Certificate REVEALED!
In a new report obtained from TMZ, it seems the investigation into Moseley's death has come to an unfruitful end as authorities are still unable to determine if it was suicide or foul play.
According to the actor's death certificate, the cause of death could not be determined. The certificate confirms that Moseley shot himself but couldn't state the intent behind the fatal wound.
It's unsure if the death certificate signals an end to the investigation, but Moseley's family still strongly believes there is no way their son could have taken his own life.
Moseley's sister Teera Kimberly also shared that her family received a condolence letter from President Joe Biden.
An excerpt of the letter read, "Dear Moseley family, Jill and I are sending you our heartfelt condolences on the passing of your beloved Moses. I know there are a few words I can share that will ease the pain of losing a loved one. You are in my thoughts and prayers."
POTUS continued, "though the grieving never quite ends, I promise you the day will come when the memory of Moses will bring a smile to your lips before it brings a tear to your eye. My prayer for this is that this day comes sooner rather than later."
Kimbo shared that she has no idea how President Biden heard about her brother's demise, but she thinks he once visited the White House.
