Former television host and current actress Olivia Munn is becoming herself again after going through the ups and downs of pregnancy and childbirth. She welcomed her very first child, a boy named Malcolm Hiệp, with John Mulaney a few months back.

The 41-year-old recently told her fans on her Instagram Stories that she was getting herself back for the first time post-partum. She explained that she was still recovering from the childbirth experience, but martial arts classes helped her feel more like herself.

She also shared some other issues she faced post-partum and how she has slowly overcome them and is now stronger than ever.

“My hips still feel wonky from pushing out a human being, my post-partum anxiety is still here (and horrible), but I got myself up and took my first capoeira lesson today,” Munn captioned the image she posted in reference to martial arts.

“Getting back to martial arts made me feel a little bit more like myself,” the star continued as she smiled and put up her thumbs in the picture (via People). “Hope I can keep it up,” she added, with a crossed fingers emoji.

Munn and Mulaney shared the first pictures of their newborn in December as they announced his birth to fans. However, an anonymous source revealed that the couple welcomed the child to the world on November 24th.

One of the pictures showed her son sleeping in a blanket and cuddled up, and Munn captioned it with his name reveal. She wrote, “My Golden Ox baby. Malcolm Hiệp Mulaney. Happy Holidays.”

The Couple Are Very Happy With Their Son

Mulaney was equally excited for Malcolm’s plus to the family, as he made a similar post and captioned it, “Meet Malcolm Hiệp Mulaney. He has his whole life ahead of him. He hasn’t even tried seltzer yet. I’m very in love with him and his whole deal. Happy Holidays.”

Mulaney made the first announcement of Munn’s pregnancy while on a Late Night with Seth Meyers episode in September. He also expressed how happy he was both for his relationship and the pregnancy.

He said, “I got into this relationship that’s been really beautiful with someone incredible, and we’re having a baby together. He also admitted that he was very nervous to tell fans and his family about the news.

Breastfeeding Wasn’t Easy For Munn

While Munn has expressed that she is very happy about her son, she also didn’t shy from sharing the challenges she faced after giving birth, such as breastfeeding. She revealed her breastfeeding challenges to fans in a recent Instagram video.

Munn explained that she was finding it difficult to feed her son well enough since she had a “low supply” of breast milk. Many fellow mothers commiserated with her in the comment section and shared the post-partum difficulties they also faced.

She also noted the things she has tried using to increase her milk supply, including “2 lactation consultants, 3 breastfeeding pillows, lactation soups, liters of coconut water, lactation teas, gummies, vitamins, cookies, nipple ointments, skin-to-skin, heating pad to increase circulation [and] three different breast pumps.”

Olivia Munn Encouraged Nursing Mothers

Things were definitely not easy for Munn, as she also revealed that she would wear a “device filled with formula” around her neck “with tubes taped to my nipples so I could stimulate milk production while giving my baby the nutrients he needs.”

Munn revealed that after several attempts, she “cried and cried” when they weren’t working out, and she also “felt like [her] body was failing” her. She also added that she was worried she wouldn’t bond with her child.

She said, “But then I said fuck it. She then shared some advice for her fellow nursing mothers and encouraged them to feed their children however they were comfortable with doing so. Munn said, “To the mamas out there, do whatever you need to feed your baby, and don’t let anyone make you feel bad about it.”
