Was shooting the legendary July 2003 Vanity Fair cover with several teen queens of the early '00s an experience Hilary Duff would deem 'So Yesterday?'
All signs point to yes!
Duff recently sat down with Vanity Fair to film an episode of their lie detector test series, which features celebrities being hooked up to a lie detector, while being asked a series of personal or difficult questions.
Among questions about her childhood, (Duff admits to stealing from Bath and Bodyworks at a young age!), and "Lizzie McGuire," she was asked whether she views her experience shooting the cover with a number of teen queens of the day, including her former so-called nemesisLindsay Lohan, as a highpoint of her career.
Duff's Not-So-Nostalgic Response

Any pop culture fanatic or fan of Duff who may have been hoping for a positive reaction from our girl may want to prepare themselves for a little disappointment!
After being shown a photo of the cover and asked for her thoughts, Duff blinks for a moment and responds, "Like, explain 'career-high.' Like, personal high, or just like a big achievement?"
She then admits "I remember being like, 'This is cool I was included in this, but no, this was a very high stress, anxiety-inducing day."
Despite saying otherwise when she was asked at the beginning of the video, Duff really did 'come clean' with this response!

Way back in July 2003, Duff was riding the success wave!
She had experienced success on the big screen with her role in "Agent Cody Banks" earlier in March, and then "The Lizzie McGuire Movie" was released in May. A month after the issue hit stands, Duff would release her first full-length album, "Metamorphosis."
It's no wonder Duff was feeling "cool" about her inclusion in the article and photo spread.
The glossy article featured several photos of many of the day's biggest teen stars, and some were paired up together for their photos. Duff can be seen in a staged pillow fight with both Evan Rachel Wood and Lohan, herself. Being in close corners together with her alleged foe would definitely be classified as an "anxiety-inducing day!"
The cover of the issue boasts the premise was "So, like, a major moment in pop culture," and giddily includes another line that screams "No way! Nine girl teen stars on the cover, and 19 more inside? Way!"
The cover headlines were true to their word!
It included popular celebs like Amanda Bynes, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Raven Symone, and Mandy Moore, to name a few. Interestingly enough, Duff goes on to admit in her interview she and Moore not only still know each other, but "Are great friends now, so [the cover] is very funny."
As if you couldn't get any more 2003 than all of the featured It-guys and gals, when asked in her bio how many Juicy Catore outfits she owns, Duff responded, "Probably together [with her sister Haylie] over a dozen."
Duff's career focus right now is currently all about looking ahead. Despite flirting with nostalgia a little with the canceled "Lizzie McGuire" reboot, Duff is currently starring in the Hulu series "How I Met Your Father," where the tenth episode will be dropped on March 15th. The series has been popular enough to already be renewed for a second season, as per Deadline!
