Actor Mark Hamill recently expressed his opposition to Florida’s controversial “Don’t Say Gay” bill in Florida classrooms. The bill, known officially as the Parental Rights in Educational bill, bans the discussion of sexual orientation and gender identity in classrooms.

According to the bill, these lessons, “may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards.”

The “Star Wars” alum took to Twitter to #SayGayAnyway.

Mark Hamill Tweets The Word 'Gay' 69 Times To Oppose Florida's ‘Don’t Say Gay’ Bill

“Star Wars” alum Mark Hamill has never been shy about making his opinion known, and he strongly opposed the “Don’t Say Gay” bill by saying the word dozens of times, and followed up his post with a rainbow emoji for good measure.

“I have a student with two dads,” another user shared. “Her mother passed away, and her gay uncle adopted her. She's 4 years old and deserves to openly speak about her parents. Florida needs to realize gay couples have young children. They deserve to see the representation of their families too.”

However, the tweet caught the notice of Ben Shapiro, head of the conservative company, “The Daily Wire.” “The Mandalorian” actress Gina Carano was fired from Disney for posting conservative tweets backing Donald Trump’s claims of election fraud and mocking mask-wearing and vaccines.

Lucasfilm officially parted ways with her after she posted a message to her Instagram Story comparing the way conservatives are treated in the U.S. today to the way that Jews were treated during the Holocaust. She was also dropped by her talent agency but was picked up by Shapiro’s company.

Ben Shapiro Accuses Mark Hamill Of 'Parroting Idiotic Propaganda'

Mark’s tweet caught the attention of Ben Shapiro, who replied, “So I take it you wish to indoctrinate small children into gender and sexual ideology. Because that's the only reason you're parroting idiotic propaganda.”

However, many users weren’t having it. “If this bill was really about the kids and parental rights it would cover talk about ALL sexual activity. Why is it ok for the school to teach 5 years about heterosexual sex against a parent's will but they aren't allowed to know gay people exist?” one user asked. “Something seems off.”

Mark Hamill Fires Back At Ben Shapiro ‘Guess Which Finger I’m Holding Up’

The “Star Wars” actor responded, “Hi Ben, I LOVE mind-reading acts! Now guess which finger I'm holding up...”

“It's hysterical that freaking Ben Shapiro thinks he can take on Mark Hamill on Twitter,” one fan wrote. “Dude, you brought a paper sword to a lightsaber fight.”

“I think I can count this as the SECOND time I’ve seen Luke Skywalker utterly defeat someone named Ben, and not have to be physically present,” another joked.

The next day, Mark revealed that someone had actually reported his tweet and tried to have it taken down. His first tweet had also been reported earlier that week, but he was found not to have broken Twitter policy or German law.

Mark Hamill Dodged The Network Enforcement Act Twice In One Week!

“Imagine calling someone a mind-reader is considered more offensive than accusing me of ‘indoctrinating small children into gender & sexual ideology,’” Mark tweeted. “Remember, my🖕was only implied. Whew-grateful to have dodged the Network Enforcement Act twice in one week!” He capped the message with the hashtag #SkywalkingOnShapiro.

However, although Mark was having a bit of fun with Shapiro on Twitter, he still reminded fans that his initial tweet was meant to provide honest support to the LGBTQIA+ community.
