The “Think Like A Man” producer, Steve Harvey, recently gave his 2 cents on Jennifer Hudson‘s intention to launch her talk show. He mentioned to People Magazine that the singer would be great for her new role.
“I like Jennifer Hudson. I think especially at her space now, with all she knows now — she’s been a celebrity. She’s a mom. She’s been in relationships,” he said. “You’ve gotta have all of that stuff under your belt because when you’re talking to guests, you’ve gotta be able to relate. So I think Jennifer Hudson would be great.”
However, while he showed utmost faith in Hudson, he added that it was no walk in the park.
“It’s hard. Daytime TV is hard now,” he added. “It’s really hard.”
Steve Harvey’s Stint With Entertainment
Steve Harvey began his foray into entertainment in the 1980s and since then handled most facets, including producing, acting, even hosting his talk show, “The Steve Harvey Show.”
In addition to all the jobs he had held in his long career of two years, Harvey recently premièred his new courtroom comedy show, “Judge Steve Harvey.”
“I decided to be a judge because I’ve done everything else,” he said on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in January. “I mean, might as well just pass judgment.”
“Judge Steve Harvey” is a court show which welcomes all sorts of conflicts, characters, and situations to the courtroom. Disputes will range from small claims to massive disputes. Judge Steve Harvey will preside over the cases and dole out judgments based on fairness and common sense. The show will be a one-hour primetime unscripted comedy that will be premiering on ABC later this year.
Executive producers will include Den of Thieves’ Jesse Ignjatovic, Steve Harvey, Barb Bialkowski
Brandon Williams, Jared Morrell, and Evan Prager.

Hudson’s upcoming talk show was announced earlier in the month and was expected to air on Fox-owned channels this fall. At the time of the announcement, Hudson expressed her excitement at her talk show, adding that she’s thrilled for her fans to know her beyond her music career.
“I have experienced so much in my life; I’ve seen the highest of the highs, the lowest of the lows, and just about everything in between but as my mother always told me, ‘Once you think you’ve seen it all, just keep on living,'” she said in a statement.
“People from around the world have been a part of my journey from the beginning – twenty years ago – and I’m so ready to join their journey as we sit down and talk about the things that inspire and move us all,” Hudson continued. “I have always loved people, and I cannot wait to connect on a deeper level and let audiences see the different sides of who I am, the human being, in return.”
She concluded, “And I couldn’t be more thrilled to do it alongside this incredible team. We’re about to have a lot of fun and shake things up a little bit!”
Hudson’s New Show Is Going To Replace ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’
Per Variety, the show, which was shot on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” will be an hour-long and will replace Ellen as Warner Bros’ new flagship show since the former is on its last season.
DeGeneres announced in May that she would end “Ellen” after 19 seasons after her contract ended in 2022. However, she had originally planned to end the show in 2019 but renewed the show for three final years.
Daytime talk shows are notoriously difficult, as most entries fold after their initial two-year station deals. “EllenDeGeneres” was a tremendous exception, lasting nearly twenty years and spawning spin-offs such as “The Masked Dancer,” “Ellen’s Game of Games,” “Ellen’s Greatest Night of Giveaways,” and “Family Game Fight.”
The Show Is A Partnership Between Hudson And Fox
“The Jennifer Hudson Show” serves as a form of reunion between Hudson and Fox– where she broke out on the third season of America’s Idol.
“I knew that Jennifer was a force to be reckoned with from the moment I met her nearly 20 years ago,” Mike Darnell, who doubled as the former head of the network and present president of Warner Bros., said.
“From her Grammy-winning career in music, to her Oscar-winning acting career, Jennifer’s amazing talent, big heart and authenticity shine through in everything she does. I am thrilled to be working with her in this new role. She’s a natural, and I know audiences will embrace her in their homes every day.”
Hudson will be the second previous American Idol performer to host a talk show. The first season’s winner, Kelly Clarkson, is currently in her third year of hosting her talk show, “The Kelly Clarkson” show.
