Based on the Garth Ennis comic series of the same name, Eric Kripke created "The Boys," an American superhero television series on Amazon Prime. The satirical comedy garnered over seven million total viewers in the first ten days of its first release, making it one of the most successful original programs on the streaming service.

Not only is "The Boys" one of the most engaging TV programs on all streaming platforms, but its season two finale drove it all home with massive revelations, fatalities, and a few unexpected heroic scenes.

Now the long-anticipated wait for a third season is almost coming to an end. The showrunners recently released a new trailer for the show, showing off some juicy tidbits that would keep fans engrossed when the series premieres later in the year.

Amazon Prime Video debuted the new season three teaser for the Emmy-nominated superhero series at their panel at South by Southwest (SXSW) on Saturday.

The event, an annual smorgasbord of films, interactive digital and media content, music festivals, and conferences, was held in collaboration with top film giants. It starred new content from Amazon alongside their first look trailer for the sequel.

A quick watch showed Jack Quaid making a return as Hughie and Butcher (Karl Urban) squaring up against Homelander (Antony Starr), who is holed up in Vought Tower. Butcher seemed to have taken a power booster as the trailer revealed his eyes in a bright yellow form just before he lets fly his heat vision.

More Blood In Season Three Of "The Boys"

According to series regular Laz Alonso, Season three will have roughly three times the amount of blood as Season 2. He stated this in an interview with the Collider the previous year while giving fans details about the progress of the series production.

"I'll put it to you this way. I was talking to the head makeup artist, and she's in charge of ordering the blood — that's one of her many jobs," he told the news outlet. "She told me that all of Season 2... When you talk about bulk, I don't think they used over a gallon of blood in Season 2, believe it or not. Season 3, we're already at three and a half gallons of blood. So that should give you a little indication of where it's going."

Eric Kripke Will Adapt Part Of The "Herogasm" Plot In Season Three

Not only would the on-screen violence increase by a notch, but fans can also expect to see producer Kripke incorporate a portion of the "Herogasm" six-issue comic book spin-off in Season three of "The Boys."

As per Indiewire, the "Herogasm" narrative revolves around numerous superheroes claiming to leave Earth to combat an extraterrestrial menace so that they may go on a drug-fueled orgy getaway to an island resort.

The story would play out in the sixth episode of the series of the same name, as confirmed by a January 2021 tweet from the producer. Other episode titles are still unknown, apart from the show's debutant dubbed "Payback."
