‘Love Is Blind’ Natalie Lee Responds To Shayne’s Suggestion That She’s Dating Sal

Natalie Leebecame engaged to Shayne Jansenduring season 2 of “Love Is Blind,” but the couple had a huge fight the night before the wedding, causing Natalie to leave Shayne standing at the altar. Likewise, Salvatore Perez, known simply as Sal, couldn’t marry Mallory Zapata, saying “my heart just wasn’t in it.”

However, Shayne’s new Instagram Story AMA made some fans think that Natalie and Sal might be involved.

During an Instagram AMA, Shayne answered the question if he and Natalie “hate each other now.” Although the two tried to date again after the wedding, they eventually called it quits after a few months.

When Shayne answered the question, he replied, “Ask @salvadior08.”

Fans can’t help but notice that the two have been exchanging flirty Instagram comments back and forth. On Wednesday, March 9, Natalie posted a photo in a leather jacket with the caption, “The old Nat can’t come to the phone right now. Why? Cause she’s dead,” referencing the Taylor Swift song.

Sal commented, “What’s new Natalie’s number? ?? I’ve been meaning to contact her about her car’s extended warranty. ?.” Natalie replied, “Leave a voicemail with a song only.”

A few days before that exchange, Natalie posted a snap in a red dress. Sal commented, “Casual Wednesday? … Pshh My goodness.”

In an interview on Tea With Publyssity, Natalie said that Sal is “a very honest person” and a “great guy” but they’re not dating. “That friendship with him, I really appreciate,” she said.

“I know there’s been speculation that me and Sal are dating. We are not,” she clarified. “We’re just really, really close friends.”

In an interview with Lauren Speed-Hamilton’s new Netflix podcast “We Have The Receipts,” Natalie appeared on episode 2, titled “The Boss Ladies Special” to shut down dating rumors.

When asked about her current relationship status, Natalie said that there is “nobody in my life. I’m one-hundred percent single.”

“I’m really just focusing on myself,” she explained. “And I think it’s so crazy with the show coming out. I’ve really been trying to take things day by day. But I’m single and ready to mingle.”

When it was suggested that she must have men sliding into her DMs all the time, Natalie said that wasn’t happening. “No, all I’ve seen is messages from women being very supportive,” she said. “So no messages from other men, unfortunately.”

She also addressed speculation that she was dating any of her season2 cast members.

When asked if she’d be open to dating Sal or anyone else she met in the pods, Natalie said, “Honestly, I don’t. I think I’m good.”

“They’re all really nice men, but I think I’ve built friendships with most of them, and so I just don’t see it getting to that romantic level with any of them quite honestly,” she added.

During the interview, Natalie revealed that she and Shayne did date for a few months following the wedding, but they just couldn’t get past their big fight the night before their wedding day.

“We did date for several months after our wedding,” she said. We just wanted to give it another shot without the pressures of the wedding, and also, the cameras.”

When asked why it didn’t work out, Natalie said, “I think, for the most part, what happened on our wedding day and the day before the wedding day, that fight, I couldn’t move on from it. And I don’t think he could either.”

“Also, I think it comes down to we are very different people,” she continued. “With different needs and wants. And we also have some communication issues. We just couldn’t figure out a solution or resolution to that.”

It seems that Sal could also understand where he was coming from. In an interview Us magazine, Sal admitted that he and Mallory also went on a date after the wedding to talk about their relationship status.

“We got some closure on a lot of stuff and we just — we tried everything. We tried everything from a romantic standpoint and in that date, we just got our closure and decided to part ways,” he said. “And since then, we’ve just checked in on each other and I wish her the best, and I have my respect for her, you know, and everything like that. We tried, we were vulnerable with each other and that’s all we can really do.”
