Season 14 Of ‘RHOA’ Will ‘Survive,’ Says Kandi Burruss

In the exclusive interview, Burruss explained why she believes the upcoming season of the Bravo show will do just fine without the two powerhouses — Williams and Bailey.

As you might know, Bailey shocked fans last September when she announced her departure from “RHOA” after 11 seasons. She broke the news on social media, writing, “After much thought, I have made the very difficult and heartfelt decision not to return for the next season of Real Housewives of Atlanta”

Days after Bailey’s shocking announcement, Williams followed suit, sharing her decision to exit after nine seasons.

Williams wrote, “After ten life-changing, gratifying, incredible years, it is finally time to begin my next chapter. Next season, I will not be returning to the Real Housewives of Atlanta franchise.”

She explained that it was a “difficult decision” to make but undoubtedly the right one for her.

Given the sudden exits of both housewives, viewers expressed concerns about how upcoming seasons would fare, but Burruss assures that the dramatic reality show will be juicier than ever.

In her words, “Listen, they are dearly missed but the season will survive without them. They are definitely loved by the fans, and coming into this, I was kind of nervous doing it without them.”

However, despite her fear, “The Masked Singer” alum explained that Williams and Bailey’s exit was good for the show because “we needed this change.”

According to her, the reality show desperately “needed to mix things up” and it turns out the decision will be of great benefit.

The New ‘RHOA’ Housewives Brought Their A-Game

As expected, Williams and Bailey’s exit, brought along some new changes to the hit show. Former Olympian Sanya Richard-Ross was added as a new cast member. Also, Marlo Hampton was promoted from “friend” to full-time housewife.

On what fans can expect from the new season, Burruss shared that she and the above-mentioned housewives alongside Shereé Whitfield, Kenya Moore, and Drew Sidora all brought their A-game while filming season 14.

”When I say the girls came to slay this season, they came to slay,” she declared, adding that Richard-Ross in particular got sucked into the drama.

Showering praises on the former Olympian, Burruss mentioned that she was pleased with how Richard-Ross was genuinely looking to build “real friendships” with the women of the group.

She noted, “I feel like in the past, everybody got so comfortable with just only being around each other when we had to film.”

Burruss also touched on Whitfield, who has been an on-and-off cast member from season 1. The Xscape member mentioned that Whitfield is returning with “a new energy” and is more transparent about her life.

One aspect of Whitfield’s life that fans can expect to see in the new season is her relationship with ex-con Tyrone Gilliams. There’s also going to be a juicy fight between Burruss and Hampton, who have since patched things up.

A ‘Terrible’ Fight Between The Ladies

Speaking about her contention with Hampton, Burruss said, “we were saying some really mean things to each other,  let’s just say that. I don’t even know how they’re going to edit it to be clean because it was terrible.”

While the “Kandi & The Gang” star didn’t go into details about the altercation, she noted that Hampton wasn’t the only housewife she had a problem with.

She and her longtime pal, Moore, also had a tussle but it turned out unsuccessful. “She tried to come for me one time. I gave it back to her. You can’t try me. I’m not going for it,” Burruss mentioned.

Luckily, the fight between the ladies didn’t tamper with their longtime bond as Burruss stated that they have “a genuine love for each other.”
