Carrie Underwood Turns 39: 'My Best Year Yet'

Carrie Underwood takes her 39th trip around the sun!

The singer turned a year older on Thursday, and she shared a photo of her cake on Instagram for her 10.9 million fans to see. The sweet surprise was a gift from her sons, Isaiah Michael, 7, and Jacob Bryan, 3, whom she shares with husband Mike Fisher, 41.

The photo showed a tall, round cake covered in pink frosting and adorned with colorful balls and gold lettering that read, "Happy birthday mommy."

Underwood adored her cake as she wrote in the caption: "Feeling loved this evening! Thanks for all the birthday wishes, everyone!"

She added, "I do believe that 39 is going to be my best year yet! ?❤️"

The share earned over 123,000 likes within the first seven hours of posting. Fans also added an upward of 3,100 comments that were mostly birthday wishes in the same time span.

"Happy birthday! That caption is definitely hinting at new music, right??" a fan wrote.

Underwood's husband also took the time to make a birthday tribute for the American Idol champion on his Instagram account. The former ice hockey centre shared a lovely snap of his wife sitting in front of her cake, right before she blew out her candles.

"Happy birthday @carrieunderwood," Fisher wrote in the caption. "the boys and I love you and appreciate you so much!"

The post accrued 61,000-plus likes and over a thousand comments as of late.

Underwood and Fisher have been married for more than 11 years. Last year, on July 10, the couple exchanged sweet tributes on Instagram.

"Happy anniversary, babe!" Underwood wrote and posted a photo of the pair. "11 years sure have flown by...here’s to many, many more! Love you!"

As for Fisher, he uploaded a snap from their wedding and wrote a note: "Happy anniversary @carrieunderwood hard to believe this was 11 years ago today! Here’s to many more with the best partner I could imagine!! #happyanniversary."

A year prior, Underwood and Fisher got to spend lots of time with each other and their kids during the pandemic.

"Most of our family lives in Oklahoma and Canada, so we usually spend a lot of time during the holidays traveling," she told People in November 2020. "For all of the challenges this year has presented, it's been a surprisingly busy and productive time, and we are very grateful for all we do have."

She continued, "For most of the time since lockdown, we were able to spend a lot of time outside, which I think was a godsend for all of us," adding, "The boys and I did a lot of gardening together, which I love."
