"Temptation Island" Season Four is upon us like fireball shots on a Friday night out!
And if you think that’s EXTREME, well for one: who are you kidding, and two: Season Four is going to be MORE extreme than the last three seasons combined!
The Blast got the chance to speak with Mark L. Walberg, host of “Temptation Island,” about his thoughts regarding the couples going into the new season, which premieres on the USA Network, March 16!
Let's dive right in!
So, Iris Jardiel and Luke Wechselberger got together after she caught eyes for him while dating his good friend.
While some may view this as a sign of disloyalty in a partner, Iris and Luke have been together for four years. However, they’re headed to Temptation Island because they both have jealousy issues, and Luke has broken things off not once, but twice.
Is Previously Dating Your Partner's Friend An Omen?
When we asked Walberg his thoughts on dating a partner’s friend beforehand, he said, “Obviously, that’s fraught with potential problems.”
On the contrary, he added, “Love doesn’t like to be fit into any rules.”
Ash Lamiroult and Hania Stocker have been together for a year, and have decided to tempt themselves on the island to see if their short relationship can stand the test of countless sexy singles.
Oddly enough, their year together may suit the relationship better than say Iris and Lukes’ four-year relationship.
Could One Year Together Be Beneficial On The Island?
Why, you might ask?
Walberg, believes that in this day and age “a year, year and a half relationship is a substantial relationship.”
The “Temptation Island” host added, “You could argue doing something as extreme as Temptation Island may work in your favor early on rather than later."
He also noted that the time and depth of Ash and Hania’s relationship, and any relationship for that matter, is relative to the people involved.”
Speaking of too much time together, Gillian Lieberman feels she may have lost some time dating Edgar De Santiago throughout college.
The couple are college sweethearts who met at Ball State University in Indiana!
College Sweethearts Could Be A Recipe For Disaster
Gillian fell hard and fast for Edgar’s old school ways, but they both have trust issues in their relationship and despite overcoming some missteps, neither of them can shake the uncertainty of their future together.
Going to Temptation Island might just be Gillian’s easy way out of the relationship!
Just a hypothesis.
Walberg said that Edgar is her first love, but Gillian feels like maybe she missed out on life.
Are there some life experiences she should have while she’s young?
Walberg told us, “The underlying theme of the whole show: Is there something better for me out there?”
He continued to explain, “You want to have some life experience so you don’t have regrets, but at the same time there is something to be said for jumping in together and building a life together so the ownership is shared.”
One of the many important pieces of advice Walberg imparted upon us is, “Everything is a ‘we’ not a ‘hers and mine.’”
So, given everything we know so far about the couples who jet set to Temptation Island, what about the singles?
After looking through their backgrounds and social media profiles, The Blast feels that Brianna Hile from Las Vegas and Mike Melnick from Los Angeles are going to be the pot stirrers.
“I will say you’re sleeping on a few,” Walberg said laughing.
Don’t Make Your Bets On The Singles Early
Story lines are constantly changing with every episode throwing viewers for a loop.
Walberg’s words of advice for potential future couples coming to Temptation Island, “If this is a choice you’ve chosen to do, the only way to get through this is to work on yourself and be authentic.”
