After four weeks of debuting on Hulu, "Pam & Tommy" aired its season's finale on Wednesday. The American biographical drama miniseries centered on the lives of actress Pamela Anderson and Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee as they navigated the scandalous moments of their sex tape ordeal.

For the role of Pam and Tommy, the showrunners brought in Lily James and her co-star Sebastian Stan. Although they both delivered riveting performances for their parts, James' portrayal of Anderson was quite grueling for the actor.

Not only did she have to spend hours altering her look to depict her character, but she also had to embody Anderson's unique accent seamlessly. The result of her dedication was clearly seen on the screen when the series premiered. However, some relics, such as the accent, still stuck with the actress months after the production process had wrapped up.

While attending the red-carpet event of "Pam & Tommy" finale, James proved to fans how much work she had put in to star as Anderson. She unconsciously switched between her typical British accent and the American accent for the film role as she chatted with the Hollywood Reporter.

At some point during the Q and A, James seemingly got frustrated by her unstable accent, saying, "I keep talking in an American accent!" before adding a jocular remark, "What is happening to me?!". From all indications, James dug deep into her talents to prepare for the role as she knew it was a career-defining moment.

The actress had once explained the preparation process for the role. She disclosed her habit of binging- hours of Anderson's footage to master her accent and imitate her gestures. James further revealed that she wanted to leave the project shortly before production started because of the legwork needed for the role. In the end, she stayed back, and the rest they say is history.

James Spent Hours Doing Her Make-up For The Role

The "Mamma Mia 2" star needed four hours in the cosmetic seat each day to create her prosthetic breast and prosthetic forehead, replete with Anderson's notoriously thin eyebrows.

The cosmetic procedure necessitated a 3:30 a.m. morning call for her day on set. James did, however, take the time to immerse herself in the thoughts of the '90s celebrity, narrating the narrative of Lee and Anderson's notoriously stolen sex video.

While her final look was magnificent, the actress revealed that her proper appearance behind all the cosmetics was quite hideous at the film's premiere.

"I had this prosthetic forehead, so to make it work, I had bleached my eyebrows underneath," said James. "So I walked around with what looked like no eyebrows during the whole job, looking like a complete lunatic."

Sebastian Stan Also Spent Extensive Time In The Make Up Chair

James co-star Stan was not left out of facing the grueling make-up process. His character had over 30 tattoos on his body, and each had to be placed with care.

"Every three days, they had to be reapplied," said Stan, who enjoyed rocking the look off-set. "It's interesting walking through East L.A. with tattoos."

Although the make-up process was challenging, both stars admitted it helped bolster their confidence in portraying their parts. "I think it was our first camera test when we actually had all the tattoos, the wig and the costumes," said Stan. "Lily and I kind of looked at each other and were like, 'Maybe we're going to be OK."

Pamela Anderson Dissatisfied With 'Pam & Tommy'

James opined that "Pam & Tommy" conveyed the entire tale of the sex-tape heist and its subsequent viral dissemination at the premiere. She added that it shed light on the actual events – and the true victims of the crime and global controversy.

However, Anderson, who was the star character for the film, does not share the same view. The former model has stated her distaste for the show on several occasions and recently revealed that her own Netflix documentary that would allow her to "tell the actual tale" is in the works.

Although it is yet unknown what new angle would be unraveled in Anderson's Netflix flick, fans are happy to get two doses of one of the most scandalous stories in Hollywood.
