Kim Kardashian Celebrates Divorce With Name Change On Facebook & Instagram

Kim Kardashian is basking in all of her newfound divorce glory.

The SKIMS founder is officially and legally divorced from ex-husband, Kanye West.

It was a long time coming, like a whole year.

Kim filed for divorce from the rapper in February 2021, and their civil divorce turned sour in recent months.

The “Donda” rapper denied Kim’s petition to speed up the divorce to drop “West” from her last name and declare her legally divorced.

We broke the story, Kim attempted to get the status changed and Kanye agreed as long as certain paperwork was changed to make it official. In the end, Kim K. conceded to give her estranged husband the necessary legal protections of indemnification in order to terminate their marriage.

On March 2, the famous former couple’s lawyers faced off in an L.A. County Courtroom to hash out an agreement that will allow the parties to become legally divorced, even though they haven’t completely settled their financial and custody issues.

Kim Kardashian joined the hearing via Zoom while Kanye’s new lawyer Samantha Spector appeared on his behalf.

On the docket was a “bifurcation” of the couple’s marital status which will legally make them divorced.

During the hearing, the judge signed off on the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star returning her name to “Kim Kardashian” and dropping the “West.”

“I’ve asked my team to expedite the dissolution of my marriage to Kim so I can put my entire attention into our beautiful children,” Kanye said. 

Kim is celebrating no longer being a “West” on social media.

She has changed her Facebook, Instagram and Twitter profile names to read “Kim Kardashian.”

The KKW beauty star formerly went by “Kim Kardashian West,” on all social platforms.

Not long after her divorce was legal, her fans took to Twitter to celebrate the news.

“Yea! Name change!?,” a happy fan wrote.

Another fan wondered if any of her businesses with the name “West” in them will change.

“So is Kim Kardashian going to rebrand since she’s getting divorced? I know she has KKW Fragrances… will that name change?” they wrote.

Kim does still own and operate KKW Beauty and KKW Fragrances.

It’s still unknown if the makeup mogul will rebrand or change the beauty brand names.

Not long after their divorce, Kim’s fans expressed concern over her and boyfriend Pete Davidson’s safety.

On March 6, The Blast reported on the worldwide concern.

After their divorce, Kanye uploaded the video for his song “Eazy” on Instagram. The lyrics include “God saved me from that crash/ Just so I can beat Pete Davidson’s a–.”

In the video, a claymation version of Kanye can be seen putting a bag over a character’s head who looks like Pete Davidson. He then ties up the character and drives him out to an abandoned area where he buries him up to his neck. He later holds up his decapitated head.

The video has many fans concerned for Kim, who is still locked in a custody battle despite being legally single.

One disturbed fan tweeted, “Kim gets declared legally single to help him understand the relationship is over. He releases a video threatening her new partner. Watch this and understand why you cannot just leave an abuser no matter how much money you have. They will not let it be over.”

A screenshot of the tweet was shared to Feminist News, where it got thousands of reactions and hundreds of comments from women who shared their own domestic violence stories.

“My husband’s coworker was murdered at her desk by her estranged husband,” one user shared. “She did everything right…but a ‘well-meaning’ relative betrayed a confidence because ‘he was always so nice to us’ and felt he deserved a second chance. She got away from him, but lost her life because someone valued the ‘sanctity of marriage’ over her cousin’s life.”

“If Kim K becomes an advocate for domestic violence she could literally change the face of the whole thing with her massive influence,” one user wrote.

Another said, “Y’all after all this madness, I hope Kim takes her career of being a lawyer in the future to the NEXT LEVEL & will fight for domestic violence victims!”

There’s always a possibility Kim could expand her legal career to help victims of domestic violence and abuse.
