Melanie Martin Blames Post-Partum Depression For 'Mistakes,' Apologizes To Aaron Carter

Melanie Martin speaks out for the first time since her split with Aaron Carter.

The couple, who welcomed their three-month-old son Prince Lyric, in November, broke up for the second time last month. The rapper's ex-fiancée, 29, took to Instagram and shared her statement about her recent split from Carter, 34.

"Just wanted to make a statement I've had a bad Time with post pardom depression," Martin began.

"Aaron never hit me / was angry because I made a mistake a bad one. And we were arguing ALOT because he was trying to break up with me for what I did," she continued.

Martin also informed her followers that Carter "is definitely NOT a drug abuser," unlike what people believed.

"I've been a witness to it for two and a half years and their are a lot claims that he is online It's completely untrue I've been here the whole time!!!" the former bartender shared, adding, "He takes care of his mental health and is serious and has been working with a doctor for 2 and a half years and I want to make it VERY CLEAR ABOUT THAT. Because of all the claims about him."

Martin also noted that she's "dropping all charges" against Carter and that she's "going to the doctor to get help with my POST PARDOM DEPRESSION."

She continued, "MY SONS WELL BEING IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO ME IM NOT SURE IF HE WILL FORGIVE ME BUT I WANT HIM TO KNOW IM SORRY AND THAT I SAID THINGS THAT WEREN'T TRUE AND MADE A MISTAKE AND I WANT TO BE HONEST TO EVERYONE and the WORLD AND MAKE THIS RIGHT. BUT AS I SAID BEING A MOM AND TAKING CARE OF MY SON AND MY POST PARDOM DEPRESSION IS MOST IMPORTANT FOR MYSELF MY SON AND AARON."

Martin concluded her note, writing, "I don't know if we can work this out with each other as a couple but I'm hoping he'll forgive me."

As reported by The Blast, Carter was accused of punching Martin during a recent domestic dispute.

In a video posted on the same day as her statement, Martin denied all claims in a video she made with a friend.

"One day is not going to affect me anymore because I'm not going to deal with these people anymore. What they say -- I'm not listening to people's opinions anymore at all. Like, I know what goes down, and I know that he's a good father. I'm a good mother. Like, that's all that matters," she said.

"I mean, yeah, like us getting into fights is obviously that means we need help in that department," Martin admitted.

Her pal also noted that "Melanie likes her drama," while "Aaron likes his space. That's just all there is," adding, "No one hit anybody. Aaron is a good person."
