46-year-old actor, Antony Starr is best known for his Homelander role, where he plays the main antagonist and fights in the superhero TV series "The Boys." He recently turned fiction to real life as he allegedly assaulted a chef, aged 21, at a bar after drinking a lot.
He was arrested shortly after and detained in Alicante, a city in Spain. While La Informacion, the city's local news outlet, first reported it, Variety later confirmed the arrest. Here's all there is to know about the issue.
What Led To The IncidentÂ

Starr was reportedly in Spain to shoot Guy Ritchie's "The Interpreter," an upcoming action film that also stars Jake Gyllenhaal. "The Interpreter" follows the story of Sergeant John Kinley and Ahmed, his interpreter, and the ambushing of their Afghanistan unit.
The incident, which happened on March 2nd, followed an altercation between the Venezuelan chef and Starr. Starr allegedly punched him in the face two times, resulting in an emergency trip to the hospital in an ambulance.
However, The New Zealand Herald revealed that the assault involved more than just punches. After he punched the victim several times, Starr also smashed glass on the man's face, which resulted in several facial stitches, as the outlet reported.
Starr Got Sentenced
According to Variety, Starr was arrested following an anonymous call to the police about the altercation. The arrest led to a court hearing after Starr spent two days in the custody of the Spanish police. He was then convicted for the assault of the young man.
Prior to the hearing, the chef (whose name is Bathuel Araujo) confirmed to the police that he was indeed punched twice, injured by the glass, and had to get stitches at four places above the eye. Starr was sentenced to a suspended prison time of 12 months for the crime after he admitted to it.
Per La Informacion, he was asked by the court to pay a fine of $5,464 within three days to avoid facing a prison sentence.
Starr's Sentence Was Suspended

The year-long sentence was put aside on the requirement that he paid the fine within the stipulated time and refrained from committing other crimes within the next couple of years. Per Variety, this was in accordance with Spanish laws, as convictions below two years are suspended if there was no criminal record in the victim's history.
Fans believed the situation would not have occurred if he wasn't very drunk at the moment. The court seemingly shared this view as a court official noted that "The sentence was the result of an agreement between the state prosecution service and the man who was subsequently convicted."
This incident and arrest coincidentally happened a week before the "The Boys" panel scheduled by Amazon to hold at SXSW. Several casts from the show were invited to appear; however, Starr was left out, as he was fully occupied with filming for "The Interpreter."
Starr Is Silent On The Matter

Though the sentence was suspended, The actor has yet to appease fans by commenting on the issue, and many are uncertain if he will ever publicly address it. Fans were also unsure whether the incident would affect the production of upcoming seasons of the superhero series or Guy Ritchie's "The Interpreter."
Others hope their favorite supervillain co-operates with the authorities to avoid any issues resulting from the matter or committing similar offenses in general. Currently, fans can watch Starr on the spin-off show, The Boys: Diabolical, where he repeats his role as "Homelander." The show is available for viewing on Amazon Prime Video.
