The pop singer was quite skeptical about the news of Brittany's death, and she expressed her thoughts with challenging words. Spears wrote under the post:

"I saw this online today …. is anybody else curious??? She died at 32 ... HMMMMMMMMMMM... JUST SAYING!!!! Psss I know it was a while ago but come on…they are STILL INVESTIGATING!!!!”

Fans who miss the talented actress were glad that the 40-year-old singer brought the news to light; however, a few wondered why she deleted the post. In response to the speculation, a Spears fan tweeted:

"But Murphy died because of a virus that was in that house… Britney is right to believe someone could have installed toxic materials in that house while she lived there."

As The Blast previously reported in 2020, Brittany's death was declared accidental, resulting from lack of iron, drug overload, and pneumonia.

Shortly after her death, her husband, Simon Monjack, passed away due to pneumonia and anemia. However, with the surfacing of a documentary, the cause of the couple's death did not seem so simple.

At the time of Monjack's death, Brittany's mother, Sharon Murphy, was in bed next to him. The late husband also died from similar conditions with his wife.

The "Clueless" star's father, Angelo Bertolotti, was featured in the documentary, and he had doubts about his daughter's cause of death. Bertolotti passed later in 2019, at 92.

Viewers of the documentary noticed the strangeness surrounding Brittany's life and death, and they wondered how suddenly she passed away without any prior sickness.

The Atlanta-born was educated, had access to medical treatment, and lived with two other adults before her death. However, one viewer noted that she died of pneumonia without seeking medical care.

During the early stages of Brittany's death, Sharon claimed mold was the cause, and tests later ruled out the possibility of toxic fungus or drugs causing the star's death.

The test showed at least ten dense metals in her hair which seemed to be manufacturing elements of rat poison. However, professionals allegedly claimed that she was not deliberately poisoned.

The experts also believed Brittany might not have been taking proper care of herself. On the other hand, Monjack's case was linked to his heart disease, hence his demise.

The death of the couple became a closed case by the investigators; however, fans and the late actress's father were not convinced.

A close source revealed that the Atlanta-born and her husband neglected their health to focus on their career, fame, and money.

The Blast shared that at the time of Brittany's death, the coroner labeled the incident as preventable if she had gotten an early diagnosis and treatment for the condition.

After her passing, Alex Ben Block visited her home to offer his sympathy to Monjack and Sharon and interviewed the grieving husband in the process.

The filmmaker told Block he wanted a disclosure written about his wife's death resulting from a broken heart. He believed Brittany was being maltreated by the movie industry. Block revealed Monjack's words to Hollywood Reporter, saying:

He [Monjack] wanted to expose the studios, producers, and talent reps he [Monjack] believed had used rumor and innuendo – about her [Brittany] alleged lateness, inability to remember lines, drug use, and partying – to destroy her [Brittany] career."

The producer was quite known for being unconventional, so the statement came as no surprise to a few people; however, others believed he wanted to make money using his late wife's name.
