In honor of their dog, Jagger, Halsey posted a 10-slide photo of the pet in different sceneries, and they began the caption beneath the post with, "This has been the worst week of my life."

Halsey said Jagger was their first love who taught them how to be a mother. Their life revolved around the pet's habits and routines, but there is just void and quiet with the loss.

Before Halsey had a dog, they heard people mourn their dogs and regard them as mere pets; however, the singer believed otherwise.

When they got Jagger, he was a few weeks old, and they usually thought of his death and what it would feel like to lose him.

The 27-year-old imagined Jagger would grow 'old and rickety and grumpy,' and they both would spend the dog's last years on earth together getting ice cream and going sunbathing.

His death was unfortunate, and it hurt the pop singer a lot, just as they feared, as they looked forward to spending many more years with Jagger.

Halsey lost Jagger at five years old due to a gradual condition of myelomalacia. They described the disease as "sudden and uncommon and unfair with a catastrophic prognosis."

Jagger went from an active, happy pet running around the yard to experiencing paralysis all over his body within three days.

Even after his passing, the celeb admitted they had not fully processed the loss as it was sudden and shocking.

Halsey further wrote they had no reason for sharing their loss except to encourage people to love their pets every time as nobody knew what the future held.

The much-loved companion would never be forgotten by people who met him as he was a special kind. The actress did not leave out those who did not have pets, as they stated in the caption:

“If you’re reading this and you don’t have a pet, you might be thinking ‘it’s just a dog.’ Like I maybe used to. But I can tell you you’re wrong. So f**king wrong.”

They described losing a pet as 'the most visceral loss' they have ever experienced. Such experience was similar to losing an essential appendage in the body.

Halsey concluded their message with gratitude to those who loved Jagger and gave him the best life "the bestest boy" ever had.

Supporters filled the comments with red heart emojis and sent their love to the mourning icon. While celebrities like Hailey Bieber, Benny Blanco, Crystal Leigh, among others, mourned the loss of Jagger with prayers and apologies.

People who had met Jagger described him with sweet words, while others who could relate to such loss wrote about how painful it felt to lose an important being.

The R&B Songstress Shares Post-Pregnancy Experience After First Birth

Last September, The Blast reported the details of Halsey's struggles as a new mother, which the singer documented after welcoming their first child Ender Ridley Aydin into the world on July 14.

The music star later took to Twitter to relay their experience to the world and wrote how the pregnancy changed the new mother as they struggled with getting used to their new shape. Their tweet read:

"The pressure to look “androgynous” as a means of gender non-confirming expression (as a big titty breastfeeding mom) coupled with expectation to have a perfect body right after birth is a cocktail of confusion."

Halsey continued writing, "I'm patiently reminding myself to do me in any way that feels good." The "Closer" singer, who tried hard for the pregnancy, admitted to feeling different post-pregnancy.

In October 2021, The Blast divulged that Halsey shared Instagram posts of their moments with Ender at the beach. The posts got fans gushing at how adorable the pair looked.

They previously revealed the baby's face for the first time on social media on the songwriter's 27th birthday last year.

The photo showed him grinning at the camera, showing a cute dimple on one cheek, and rocking a multi-colored onesie. Halsey called their baby boy 'the best birthday gift there is.'

The "Bad at Love" vocalist shares Ender with movie producer Alev Aydin with whom they have a loving relationship.
