Diplo Reflects On Past Beef Between Him, Lorde, And Taylor Swift

Diplo has imprinted himself as one of the hottest music producers and DJs over the past ten years.
In addition to his Grammy award wins, he has worked with some of the biggest names to grace the music scene. These people include Madonna, Usher, Dua Lipa, Britney Spears, and Beyoncé, to name a few. One prominent musician he hasn't collaborated with is Taylor Swift, and there's a big reason as to why.
As reported by ET Online, their fight started when Diplo tweeted, "someone should make a Kickstarter to get Taylor Swift a booty." At the time, he was romantically involved with Katy Perry, who was feuding with Swift.
After dropping the link to the Kickstarter, he took his aggression a step further by sharing a link to a Fundly page aiming to raise $3500 for Swift.

One of Swift's friends, Lorde, rushed to her friend's defense and shut the DJ down with a tweet of her own.
"Should we do something about your tiny penis while we're at it hm."
Diplo, however, took the hint well and shot back, "Disappointed the swift boat veterans didn't get my tiny d**k a fundly going (enlarge me bae)."
Diplo Admitted To Be A 'Crazy Person' In His Previous Years On Twitter
Per Input, the DJ has something to say about his feud with Swift and Lorde. He admitted to not taking social media seriously at the time, adding, "When I first started using social media, it was a big joke for me. On Twitter, I was an unabashedly crazy person. And I didn't realize that there was power in those words. I would make fun of other artists, and that came back to hurt me in the end."
In addition, he acknowledged that the words he traded with Lorde and Swift didn't come out properly.
"I thought it was so funny, but you know, people hold you accountable for your Twitter in such a strange way. It's not real life. Sarcasm doesn't come through on social media."
Lorde And Diplo Have Settled Their Differences
It'd appear that Lorde and Diplo have managed to put everything behind them. As reported by Daily Mail, Lorde and Diplo attended the 2016 Brit Awards together.
Lorde was all smiles as she cuddled up the DJ while showing her svelte figure in a body-hugging black gown. She also appeared to be in great spirits as she locked hands with the American music producer, whose real name was Thomas Wesley Pentz, a year after their public feud.
In an interview with Fader, Lorde acknowledged that all was well as she stated that Diplo was like a brother to her. "I love Wes, and he's a big brother to me and one of my first friends in the industry, and part of having a friendship with someone like that is not letting them say stupid s**t. Taylor's my friend as well, and I'm a girl, and if I see some weird body-shaming on my feed, I'm going to be like, 'Hey man, we do still love each other, hopefully.'"
Swift And Diplo Have Also Buried The Hatchet
After the intense Twitter feud between the pair, the "Blank Space" singer and the "Lean On" hitmaker have decided to put the past behind them and surge onwards.
The pair posed for a selfie together on Diplo's phone at a Grammys after-party, with Swift making a funny face while sipping her drink and Diplo staring off into the distance.
"Then this happened @taylorswift vs taylor spliff #grammys2015l," he captioned the pic.
Before this picture, he revealed in GQ's February issue how Swift's fans were very violent.
"They threatened to murder me and stuff. It's really bizarre, and disgusting," the musician said. "They're the worst people in the world."
About His New Solo Album
In his new interview, the DJ explained why he was releasing his first solo album for the first time in 18 years.
"I just had a bunch of records I made during the pandemic. It's hard to make a constructive album with dance music. A few people have done it — classics like Daft Punk's Random Access Memories and Homework. I've been making dance music and house records for the last five, six years, and I want to put a record out that reflects that and give it to people as a package and let people vibe with it. You know, the world's opened up again; I'll be on tour this summer. I feel like this is the album I want to put out," he concluded.
"Diplo" is set for release on March 4 via the producer's label, Mad Decent Label.
