Joy Behar Faceplants On ‘The View’ Stage, Whoopi Says ‘Just Stand’
As Joy, 79, was walking out on stage during Thursday’s episode, she tripped just before she reached her seat. Cameras showed Joy literally falling flat on her face while audiences starred on in shock. Co-hosts Sara Haines, 44, and Sunny Hostin, 53, gasped right along with the audience before they quickly rushed over to help Joy to her feet.
Whoopi Goldberg, 66, also headed over to help. “The Stand” actress was overheard telling Joy to “just stand.” A production assistant also rushed out on stage to help out Joy, and with the help of Sara, Sunny, and the production assistant, Joy was able to get back on her feet to a relieved audience.
Like a true pro, the veteran talk show host sat down at the table and assured audiences that she was fine with a witty remark.
“Twenty-five years that has never happened… who do I sue?” she joked.
Although she jokingly called herself a “klutz,” she also sobered up to issue a warning to anyone who might experience a similar fall at home.
“The main thing… just to talk seriously… when Bob Saget fell, he died,” Behar added. “If you hit your head, and you feel dizzy or you have blurred vision, or you feel like you want to go to sleep, go to the doctor. Because that will kill you.”
What Did Happen To 'Full House' Star Bob Saget?
Unfortunately, it's still not clear how exactly “Full House” actor Bob Saget passed away in a hotel room in Florida. His cause of death was listed as the result of blunt force trauma.
Although many still don’t understand how the “How I Met Your Mother” narrator hit his head hard enough to create a brain bleed, his family has filed a lawsuit to ban any more information about his death from being revealed to the public, including official documents and photographs.
At this time, officials are saying that they believe that Bob Saget slipped and fell on the bathroom floor, where he hit the back of his head and lost consciousness. He had entered his hotel room just after 2 AM and was reported to have been deceased by 4 AM. His body was found approximately 12 hours after his estimated time of death.
Police theorize that Bob Saget lost consciousness after he hit his head but later regained consciousness and tucked himself into bed, where he finally passed away. Authorities stated that there was no blood or hair found on the end tables in the bathroom or the counter to support this theory; however, they failed to state whether or not there were any traces of blood or hair found on the bathroom floor.
At this time, it seems unlikely that fans will ever find out what really happened to Bob Saget, but authorities have ruled out both drug use and foul play to be a factor in his death.
Joy Behar Takes A Tumble On 'The View' Leading To Fan Concern... And Jokes
Some, although not all, users expressed concern for Joy after her fall.
“I strongly dislike her ‘views’ but I would never wish for her to be hurt,” one user commented. “I hope she is okay.”
“Not a fan at all of this show but wouldn’t want any of the ladies to get hurt,” another echoed. “Glad she is ok.”
However, others said that it was “karma” due to her recent comments about the crisis in Ukraine.
As The Blast previously reported, Joy expressed concern that the war in Ukraine would impact her long-awaited trip to Italy.
“I’m scared of what’s going to happen in western Europe, too. You plan a trip, you want to go there, I’ve wanted to go to Italy for four years, and I haven’t been able to make it because of the pandemic and now this,” she said. Her comments were immediately met with backlash online.
One fan who observed her fall commented, “Joy just took the trip she was complaining about.”
