Two weeks ago, Kelly Rizzo posted a video of some of the best moments she had with Bob Saget on her Instagram page.
“One month without this incredible man. Bob truly lived life to its fullest,” she wrote. “He had so many hardships over the years that he would always tell me ‘look, life is hard, we need to enjoy it as much as possible.’”
“And one of the best ways we did that together was sharing and exploring amazing food around the world,” she continued. “We were in our happy place together whenever we were out at a restaurant, hotel lobby bar, or even our own kitchen when I would try out a new creation on him. He was never shy about ordering, and he would even tell you to get everything on the menu that you wanted because he also wanted to see you enjoy everything to the fullest.”
“Experiencing simple pleasures in life like that brought him so much joy,” she concluded. “I can’t even put into words how much I will miss this.”
One user commented on the post, saying, “Bob knew what life was all about. He knew it was about enjoying the good times to the fullest. He loved nothing more than enjoying those good moments life offered with you and his girls. This was a beautiful reminder of how funny and full of life he always was and I’d be lying if I said I got through it with dry eyes. Love you so much, Kelly. ♥️♥️♥️”
What Really Did Happen To Bob Saget?
Unfortunately, it’s starting to seem like fans may never get an answer to that question. The stand-up comedian was found dead in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes hotel in Florida on January 9. Although it was suspected that he first passed away from a heart attack or a stroke, an autopsy revealed that he had passed away from a brain bleed caused by blunt head trauma.
However, many have questioned how exactly Bob Saget could have endured blunt head trauma in his hotel room. Although it was previously theorized that he might have hit his head on a headboard, police are now saying that they believe that he slipped and hit his head on the bathroom floor.
Surveillance footage shows that Saget had entered his hotel room at 2:17 AM and hung a “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door before locking it from the inside. No one was seen entering or exiting the room until hotel staff came to check on him at around 4 PM the next day. Bob Saget’s estimated time of death was around 4 AM.
Although authorities immediately ruled out foul play and drug use to be a factor in his death, they also admitted that there was no traces of blood or hair found on the marble end tables and counters in the bathroom. They did not say whether or not they found any blood on the bathroom floor.
For context, Saget hit his head so hard that he had fractures and abrasions on the back of his skull. One fracture extended up to his right temporal bone, which would have required a great amount of force. The medical examiner’s report also noted that there were fractures in the front of his skull, just above his eyes, which would have been extremely painful.
Fans May Never Know What Really Happened To Bob Saget
Although fans are desperate for more information to put this mystery to rest, Kelly Rizzo and Saget’s three daughters have filed a lawsuit against Orange County Sheriff John Mina and the District Nine Medical Examiner’s Office to prevent the release of documents and photographs related to his death.
His family is requesting that all reports, audio, video recordings, and photographs, about Saget’s death be exempt from public record requests. The suit claims that “no legitimate public interest would be served by the release or dissemination of the records to the public.” They added that the release of that information “would cause irreparable harm in the form of extreme mental pain, anguish, and emotional distress.”
His family has asked the court for a temporary injunction before it makes an official ruling. If the court rules in the family’s favor, those records will be permanently sealed from the public.
