Ed Sheeran Posts Heartfelt Tribute To 'My Brother' Jamal Edwards: 'I Don't Know What To Say'

British entrepreneur Jamal Edwards passed away last Sunday. He was only 31 years old.
The SBTV founder helped launch the careers of several artists, including “Bad Habits” singer Ed Sheeran and “Bang Bang” singer Jessie J.

Several days after he passed away, the "Shivers" singer took to Instagram to pay tribute to his close friend.
"I haven’t posted anything coz I can’t find the words," Sheeran began. "I can’t reply coz I don’t know what to say."
"Jamal is my brother. His light shone so bright," he continued. "He only used it to illuminate others and never asked for anything in return."
"A stars light shines for millions of years after they go, and his will continue to light up every dark moment, we are all witnessing his power," he went on. "I would not be here without him, professionally and personally."
"There will never be anything close to what he is, but I’m so grateful to have existed within his orbit," he concluded. "My brother, come on."
On Monday, his mother, Brenda Edwards, released a statement mourning the loss of her son and gave fans and friends some insight into the cause of his death.

Edwards' mother sent a statement to Loose Women to confirm his passing.
“It is with the deepest heartache that I confirm that my beautiful son Jamal Edwards passed away yesterday morning after a sudden illness,” she wrote. “Myself, his sister Tanisha and the rest of his family and friends are completely devastated. He was the centre of our world.”
“As we come to terms with his passing we ask for privacy to grieve this unimaginable loss,” she continued. “I would like to thank everyone for their messages of love and support.”
She concluded, “Jamal was an inspiration to myself and so many. Our love for him lives on, his legacy lives on. Long live Jamal Edwards MBE, MBA, PHD.”

Many fans also took to the comments section to express their condolences for the late talent.
“Why are the best ones taken so early?” one fan asked. “London has lost a legend. There’s going to be some fantastic music in heaven. Sleep well Jamal. Big love to Brenda, family and friends.”
“Bless all of you. I am sorry for the deep painful sorrow you are suffering now but this man's soul is now untethered so he can continue spreading his good freely,” another wrote. “God has plans for him.”
“I’m so sorry. My son died suddenly aged 24 , it will be 4 years ago on Wednesday,” another shared. “I found him . My heart is breaking for you Brenda , I’m so sorry about the pain you are feeling . I would take the pain away for you if I could.”

They were far from the only ones who mourned the loss of the British entrepreneur. Singer, songwriter, and actress Rita Ora also took to social media in order to express her condolences.

The “Let You Love Me” singer took to Instagram to share a few snaps of the two together.
“My first ever interview was with you,” she began. “Jamal, Our endless talks on music and the belief you had in me and so many of us before we even believed in ourselves.”
“I’m devastated,” she continued. “No words can describe how grateful I am to of been in your presence. Thank you for all you ever showed me.”
