British entrepreneur Jamal Edwards is dead at only 31 years old.

The DJ and founder of SBTV had been awarded an MBE for his services in music. His death was announced on Sunday by his company. The cause of death was not disclosed at this time.

Jamal Edwards was born in Luton and raised in Acton. He first began SBTV as a YouTube channel when he was still only a teenager. It quickly became a space for up-and-coming artists to share their talents with the world.

Edwards launched the series F64, which asked rappers to deliver 64 bars of new lyrics. An acoustic spin-off, A64, helped jumpstart the career of Ed Sheeran. His last Instagram post celebrated Sheeran's 31st birthday on February 17.

Artists like Stormzy, Jessie J, and many others were featured on SBTV. In addition to his contributions to the music industry, Edwards was an author who published the self-help book "Self Belief: The Vision: How to Be a Success on Your Own Terms" in 2013.

He was also an ambassador for the Prince’s Trust, the youth charity run by Prince Charles. One of Edwards' recent documentaries featured conversations with musicians to try to break the stigma surrounding mental health in the music industry.
