Lindsay Lohan is having a major comeback this year.
The “Parent Trap” actress not only starred in a national Super Bowl commercial, she’s also got a new movie and podcast coming out, she’s getting married AND she just joined TikTok.
So, it’s officially, official.
Lilo Is BACK, Baby!
The Blast previously reported on the actress’ TikTok debut.
Earlier this month, the “Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club” star posted a video of herself looking au natural and smiling from ear-to-ear.
In the video she said, “Hey everyone. It’s Lindsay Lohan and guess what, now I’m on TikTok!”
Simple enough. There’s nothing shocking or to uncover from this video, right?
WRONG!
Lindsay Pronounces Her Last Name HOW?!?
There is one major thing to uncover from this video and it’s the way she pronounces her last name.
Rather than pronouncing it “LOW-HAN,” like many people have done for years, Lindsay pronounces it “LOW-EN.”
Phonetically, “LOW-HAN” looks and sounds correct, but we stand corrected by the dancing queen of Mykonos.
If this comes as a shock to you, don’t worry, you’re in good company.
Many of Lindsay’s TikTok fans were just as confused and thrown off-guard.
One commented, “Lindsay…lowen? 🤨,” while another replied, “Wait. Lindsey “LOWEN”?!? BEEN SAYING IT WRONG MY WHOLE LIFE?!?”
“U pronounced ur name wrong,” someone else wrote.
Another person pointed out that Lindsay isn’t the only celebrity name fans have been pronouncing wrong for years.
Lindsay's Fans Are Flabbergasted!
“LOWEN? LOUTNER? GRANDEE? Okay they gotta be messing with us at this point,” they wrote.
Ariana Grande, Chrissy Teigen and Taylor Lautner have all been subjected to name mispronunciation… according to them.
The Grammy winner singer explained during a 2018 interview with Beats 1 that the actual pronunciation is “GRAN-DEE” not “GRAN-DAY.”
“But also ‘GRANDEE’ I have to keep ‘GRANDEE’ because my grandpa,” she said.
Chrissy also did a 2018 interview with Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest where she explained the correct pronunciation of ‘Teigen.’
“Is it ‘TEE-GAN’ or ‘TIE-GEN,” Ripa asked the former “Lip Sync Battle” co-host.
“It is ‘TIE-GEN.’ It’s Chrissy ‘TIE-GEN,’” she explained.
Chrissy did throw the blame on herself, and explained that people saying “TEE-GAN” versus “TIE-GEN,” because she’s tired of correcting people.
Meet Chrissy "TIE-GEN"
As for “Twilight” star Taylor Lautner… well, we’ve gotten it WAY wrong.
Rather than pronouncing it as “LOTT-NER,” the actor has pronounced his name “LOUT-NER.”
Just take a look at the way he says it.
There are many more celebrity names you may have been mispronouncing over the years such as Timothée Chalamet, Rihanna and Zendaya.
Just remember, it's "REE-ANNA," "ZEN-DAY-A" and "TIM-O-TEE."
Study up, because you never know what celebrity you may meet!
