Daniel has previously shared that he and Emma have a sibling-like relationship. All siblings get into fights once in a while, but their argument was so heated that they didn’t speak to one another for days!
Daniel Radcliffe & Emma Watson Didn’t Speak For DAYS After ‘Harry Potter’ Feud
While they were filming the fourth movie in the franchise, “The Goblet of Fire,” Daniel revealed that he and Emma got into an argument about the Latin language which resulted in the silent treatment!
In an interview with Contact Music, Daniel admitted that they used to “argue about everything.”
“Oh, God. We used to argue about everything,” Daniel recalled. “Religion. Politics.”
“I remember one of the big arguments we had on the fourth film – we didn’t speak to each other for a couple of days – was about… She was arguing about the Latin language, that nobody knows what it sounds like, what a Latin accent should be,” he recalled. “And I was like, ‘Yeah, but it’s still spoken a lot in the Catholic church.’”
“Such a wacky argument, looking back, and it got totally out of hand,” he added.
Although they managed to resolve their feud after a few days and get back to work, Daniel said he learned a valuable lesson about Emma.
“I certainly would advise anyone, if you’re going to debate with her, know your s—,” he joked.
Emma Watson was under a lot of pressure as a child star. When the fame became too much for her to take, she almost considered leaving the franchise for good!
Emma Watson Almost Quit The ‘Harry Potter’ Franchise!
“You were considering pulling out, I’ve never really spoken to you about that,” Grint said.
“Yeah, I think I was scared,” Watson replied. “I don’t know if you ever felt like it got to a tipping point where you were like, this is kind of forever now.”
“The fame thing had finally hit home in a big way,” Watson added.
Grint revealed that he also had moments “all the way through” the franchise where he found himself “contemplating what life would be like if I called it a day.”
Director David Yates, who directed the last four films in the “Harry Potter” franchise, revealed that Watson almost left around the time “Order of the Phoenix” started production due to the stress of filming.
He revealed that one thing series producer David Hayman “and the studio spoke to me about was, Emma is not sure she wants to come back to do another Potter.”
However, Watson revealed that no one had to “convince” her to stay. “The fans genuinely wanted you to succeed, and we all genuinely have each other’s backs. How great is that?” she said.
Daniel Radcliffe Had An On-Set Crush… Not On Emma, But On Helena Bonham Carter!
Everyone has embarrassing crushes when they are young, but Daniel Radcliffe wrote Helena Bonham Carter a love letter and actually read it out loud to her during the special! The letter was written when they wrapped filming in 2011. Radcliffe was around 21 at the time, and Carter was around 45, so nothing romantic ever developed between them.
“Dear HBC,” Radcliffe read. “It was a pleasure being your costar and coaster in the sense that I always ended up holding your coffee.”
“I do love you,” he continued. “And I just wish I had been born 10 years earlier I might have [had] a chance. Lots of love and thanks for being cool.”
Apparently, all of his first kisses and first girlfriends were all on the “Harry Potter” set, especially around the time of “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” which Radcliffe jokingly described as “peak hormone.”
Matthew Lewis, who played Neville Longbottom, admitted, “There were crushes and people went out with each other and broke up just like you do in school. It was exactly the same environment but it was just in a Defense Against the Dark Arts class.”
Hopefully, Daniel Radcliffe won’t have any more on-set feuds when he takes on his next role as Weird Al Yankovic in his Roku biopic!
