In August 2021, Prince Andrew received a lawsuit from Virginia Giuffre. She claimed the prince and his associates Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell forced her to engage in several sexual acts with them in 2001.

Andrew has had to face scorn from the public since the start of the debacle. He also lost his military and royal titles after a judge moved a motion to allow the sexual assault lawsuit to get tried in court.

While the disgraced Duke of York has settled the issue out of court to avoid further embarrassment, it seems that the last vestiges of his ordeal trail him even into his own abode.

Andrew is now facing steep mockery from palace aides, who took to lyrically jesting about the lawsuit's outcome.

Following allegations from the Giuffre about the prince's past acts, his reaction was to deny ever encountering the defendant.

Andrew maintained that standpoint all through the height of the ordeal despite the overwhelming evidence the prosecuting legal team claimed to have up their sleeves.

With the case finally settled out of court, many have doubted the prince's innocence, wondering why he chose to pay up after claiming he had no relationship with the Giuffre.

According to the Sunday Times, some of his doubters are royal aides who have reportedly created a comical ditty based on a famous nursery rhyme about a former Duke of York.

"The grand old Duke of York, he had 12 million quid," the rhyme stated.

"He gave it to someone he'd never met, for something he never did."

The lyrical jibe gave a summary of the prince's well-publicized scandal, focusing on his claims of having no relationship with Giuffre even when a picture of him showed his arm wrapped just below Giuffre's midriff at Maxwell's house.

Andrew allegedly clamored for the case to be taken to trial to prove his innocence. Ultimately, the trajectory of the lawsuit changed as the prince closed the legal chapter on the sex scandal case by settling for £12million this week.

According to the Sunday Times, Andrew has felt sorrowful that he was associated with Epstein, as stated by sources close to him. "He is remorseful, particularly about the impact it has had on his mother and his family," they continued.

Andrew will make a public appearance on March 29 during a thanksgiving ceremony for Prince Philip at Westminster Abbey.  89Subsequently, the Queen will consider if he would be permitted to join future "family" outings predicated by how the entire ordeal unravels with time.

Reports stated that Andrew was prevailed upon by the royal family to shut down the court case as it kept on besmirching their good name.

They believed Andy might be ripped to shreds by Giuffre's lawyer, David Boies, similar to him getting lampooned by Emily Maitlis in his dreadful Newsnight interview, which forced his resignation from public service.

Sources also claimed that the prince would dip into his family's funds to cough up the settlement before the slated deadline. However, he will return the funds after selling off his Swiss chalet, which wraps up in a few weeks.

Queen Elizabeth's jubilee service at St Paul's Cathedral comes up on June 3, and Andrew is expected not to perform any royal duties at the event.

It further highlights the loss of his titles following clamors from veterans to strip the 61-year-old of his royal rights. "We understand that he is your son, but … please do not leave it any longer," the veterans decried in a letter to the Queen.

"All of us have served our country and are proud to have done so. For this reason, we are upset and angry that Prince Andrew remains a member of the armed forces and continues to hold military titles."

Given the steep and swift manner with which Queen Elizabeth withdrew Andrew's royal rights, the possibility of a reversal might take more than a miracle. Despite this loss, Andrew retained his place as ninth in line of succession.
