Sunday, February 20, was a special day for Goodwin, not only because he made it to another year after a near-death accident but also because he was finally discharged from a long hospital stay.

The daredevil took to his personal Instagram page to break the news to his fans who have been supporting him with prayers and well-wishes through his recovery period.

Goodwin uploaded a cozy picture of him and his loving fiancée Amanda Abbington staring warmly at the camera while snuggling under a blanket.

The birthday boy also confirmed what viewers could guess from the photo and noted that his day was made even special with Abbington. He wrote:

"Four months later… finally out of hospital. My birthday today… can't think of a better way to spend it than with my love."

Last October, The Blast disclosed that Goodwin suffered an unfortunate accident while rehearsing for his act on "AGT: Extreme," leading the production to be temporarily shut down.

Multiple reports reveal that the daredevil was attempting to escape from a straight jacket while suspended from a wire that was 70 feet in the air.

This wire lay between two cars on either side of Goodwin, swinging towards him. He was to free himself from confinement and land on an air mattress below while avoiding getting crushed by the vehicles.

Things took an unfortunately drastic turn when Goodwin could not free himself from the straightjacket, and the two cars smashed together while sandwiching him between them.

The vehicles exploded into flames upon impact, sending a massive fireball rippling through the set. The daredevil fell 70 ft to the ground, missing the air mattress and landing head first on the floor.

Onlookers in the area believed Goodwin was "unresponsive," and others thought he had passed away on the spot, but he miraculously regained consciousness.

The stuntman suffered cuts and burns on his face and multiple broken bones on his legs. He had to be airlifted to a local hospital in the area, where he immediately received surgery.

Goodwin uploaded a selfie from the hospital bed where he was seen with a heavily bandaged hand while completely covered in scabs and bruises.

Despite his sorry state, the stuntman stuck his tongue out at the camera, showing that his bones may be broken and in need of healing, but his spirit is intact.

Goodwin expressed in his captions that his life took a different turn a couple of days back, but he was grateful for all the well-wishes from fans, many of whom he was surprised still remember him.

The "One Way Out" Star wrote, "Thank you to everyone who has reached out and sent their love and support. It literally has been a lifesaver.” He continued:

"I have been to the very brink and dodged the worst that a human being can, without fear… because I was protected by love. Love is all you need, so make sure you get some, cos its good s—. "

Due to the extent of the performer's injuries, he noted he might stay off stunts for an indefinite period but remains hopeful for his future as an entertainer. He concluded:

“There is a long road to recovery and that won’t look like what it did…I may leave the daft sh*t alone for a while, but I have a lot left to do in this world. Maybe we can make something good together?"
