Jessie J Posts Emotional Tribute To Jamal Edwards: 'My Heart Is Broken'

Jessie J expresses her sadness over Jamal Edwards' death on social media.
The English singer, born Jessica Ellen Cornish, 33, took to Instagram to share an emotional tribute to the late music mogul, who passed away on Sunday, February 20. He was 31.

Jessie posted videos of Edwards along with their picture and a screenshot of their chat exchange.
She began by listing all of the best things about Edwards:
"Your light, Your ideas, Your love for your Mum and your sister, Your work ethic, Your dedication to making a difference not just in this industry but in this world, Your laugh, Your laugh ๐, Your care for every person you met was unmatched."
The "Price Tag" hitmaker continued, "But your friendshipโฆ Phew. Thatโs why my heart is broken."
Jessie added, "We had plans bro. I canโt believe this is real. I love you @jamaledwards."

Edwards founded an online urban music platform, SB.TV, which helped launch Jessie J's career, as well as Ed Sheeran, Rita Ora, Dave, Skepta, and many more. He was appointed an MBE for services to music in 2014 and became an ambassador for the Princeโs Trust, a youth charity run by the Prince of Wales which helps young people set up their own companies.

Ora also paid tribute to Edwards by sharing photos their photos taken through the years, along with a heartfelt message:

Skepta, born Joseph Junior Adenuga, shared the entrepreneur's photo via Instagram Story. He added a note: "Love and thank you Jamal, young legend."
Dua Lipa, on the other hand, noted that she's "heartbroken" over Edwards' passing. She also shared his picture on the photo-sharing site with a message:
"Heartbroken to hear this news. RIP Jamal ๐ค๐" the pop star wrote. "My thoughts are with his friends and family and the many peopleโs lives he has touched and brought together. Gone way too soon ๐"
As reported by BBC, Edwards performed as a DJ at a gig in north London on Saturday night and died the following day. His manager confirmed the news with no other details revealed about his death at the time.
Today, Edwards' mom confirmed that he died of "a sudden illness" in a statement.
