James Gunn & Jennifer Holland Are Officially Engaged!

It’s great to be James Gunn right now!

Less than a week after season 1 of HBO’s “Peacemaker” wrapped up, Gunn subtly revealed that he had popped the question to his longtime girlfriend, “American Pie” actress Jennifer Holland.

And, judging by the look on her face, that’s a yes!

On Sunday, the “Guardians of the Galaxy” director posted a photo of Jennifer Holland smiling behind a coffee cup. An engagement ring is clearly visibly on her finger.

Gunn played it coy in the caption, simply dropping two emojis: “?❤️”

“OMG!!!!!!!?❤️?❤️?❤️” wrote "Guardians of the Galaxy" star Karen Gillan.

"Suicide Squad" actress Viola Davis commented, “Aaaaaaaahhh!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!”

The congratulations continued to pour in from colleagues and friends who had nothing but love for the cute couple!

The news comes less than a week after the “Suicide Squad” director posted a series of snaps featuring him and the “Zombie Strippers!” actress together for Valentine’s Day.

“#HappyValentinesDay to my valentine, who has been with me through the good times, the bad times, & now the great times! Love you, @jenniferlholland. ❤️?‍♂️” he wrote.

The pair have been dating since 2015. Although she took on a supporting role in 2021’s “The Suicide Squad,” her character of Emilia Harcourt took on a much larger role in his recent spin-off series, “Peacemaker.”

Only a few hours before Gunn teased the engagement photo, Holland shared a photo of the two standing in front of a rainbow. She captioned the snap “Happiness. ? ⛅️ ❤️” Gunn commented on the photo with a simple red heart emoji.

Considering that there are rumors that a “Peacemaker” character will be appearing in the upcoming DC “Black Adam” film starring Dwayne Johnson, fans are wondering if Holland will make an appearance there as well.

“It is part of the DCU, I mean they can use these characters,” Gunn said. “I mean, one of these characters, which people have kind of figured out, one of these characters is used in a future big DC movie that's from here. So we are connected to all of this... who knows what role these characters are going to play in the future? I mean no one knew who the Guardians of the Galaxy were, and then all of a sudden they're massive players in [Avengers:] Infinity War and [Avengers:] Endgame. So who knows what's going to happen with Peacemaker in ten years, five years, or whatever.”

Fans are hoping that Gunn will be able to work with his soon-to-be wife more in the years ahead as “Peacemaker” season 2 gets underway. But, as for right now, Gunn is hard at work on Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.”
