Rihanna was born Robyn Rihanna Fenty on February 20, 1988, in Saint Michael, Barbados. Although she’s best known for her hit songs, she is also an actress, a fashion designer, and a businesswoman.

Rihanna signed with Def Jam in 2005 and released her debut album “Music of the Sun” the same year She followed it up with “A Girl Like Me” in 2006. The following year, she released her third album, “Good Girl Gone Bad.” Her single “Umbrella” granted her a Grammy Award and made her an international sensation.
She followed up her success with several more successful albums: “Rated R” in 2009, “Loud” in 2010, “Talk That Talk” in 2011, and “Unapologetic” in 2012. Those albums produced successful hit songs like “Only Girl (In The World)”, “What’s My Name?”, “S&M”, “We Found Love,” and “Diamonds.” In 2016, she left Def Jam and released her new album, “Anti,” which featured the single “Work.”
Rihanna has sold over 250 million records worldwide, making her one of the world’s best-selling artists of all time. She’s earned 14 number-one singles and 31 top-ten singles in the U.S. and 30 top-ten singles in the U.K. Throughout her career, she has won nine Grammy Awards, 13 American Music Awards, 12 Billboard Music Awards, and six Guinness World Records. In both 2012 and 2018, TIME magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world. As of 2021, she was ranked the world’s wealthiest female musician, with an estimated net worth of $1.7 billion dollars.
In addition to her singing work, she has also founded several organizations: the nonprofit organization Clara Lionel Foundation, the cosmetics brand Fenty Beauty, and the fashion house Fenty under LVMH. She is the first black woman to head a luxury brand for LVMH.
In 2018, she was appointed as an ambassador of education, tourism, and investment by the Government of Barbados and declared a National Hero of Barbados in 2021 when the country declared independence from the U.K. This gives Rihanna the right to use the title of “The Right Excellent” for the rest of her life!
Rihanna is also currently expecting her first child with A$AP Rocky!
