It seems like Mariah Carey's quest to find her "dream lover" she wished for in her 1993 single of the same name, has indeed come true!
Carey celebrated a marathon Valentine's Day weekend with her partner Bryan Tanaka, and the duo spent the romantic holiday in a way we would expect from our beloved Mimi: in a luxurious and quite unbothered fashion!

The couple's 23 hour Valentine's Day celebration, as depicted in a series of posts on Carey's Instagram account, happened in the midst of the "Ah No No" singer being frequently featured alongside her ex-husband Nick Cannon's name in news headlines. Cannon, with whom she shares 10-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, has not been shy about his feelings for his ex-wife lately.
Cannon decided to step into the recording studio to channel his feelings into his new single called "Alone." From the first note, it is pretty clear who the song is dedicated to! According to People Magazine, "Alone" opens with a sample from Carey's 31-year-old song "Love Takes Time" longtime Mimi fans will remember from her self-titled debut album.
Nick And Mariah's Co-Parenting Companionship
While Cannon was busy laying his heart out for the whole world to see, his ex-wife was busy living her best life with her love.
On Tuesday, Carey let fans know she and Tanaka were still celebrating their romantic weekend when she posted a photo where she posed alongside her 38-year-old boyfriend, happily letting everyone know she and her man were still celebrating their special day. Clearly, there was no sign Carey was paying any mind to Cannon's commentary about their relationship.
The couple, who divorced in 2016 after an eight-year marriage, have been on good terms since their divorce, peacefully co-parenting their two children. In 2019, Cannon described the nature of his co-parenting relationship dynamic with Carey to Us Weekly, sharing the couple choose to have unconditional love above all else when it comes to Moroccan and Monroe.
Nick's Hashtag Heartbreak
Cannon may feel content with the co-parenting dynamic he shares with Carey, but it's clear he wants more from their relationship.
When the rapper released his latest single, he did not hesitate to lay his heart out on his sleeve. He expressed his feelings in 280 characters or less via Twitter, writing "This is for anybody else who is #alone on Valentine's Day... I had to come RAW from the heart on this one."
Cannon displayed exactly how raw he was feeling by adding several heartbroken and hashtagged adjectives, including "#Shattered" and "#Toxic."
Listeners sounded off in the video's comment section on YouTube over the situation, with one user commenting "This is such a Libra male song," and another chimed in with "He has had multiple 'girl friends' & even had a few more kids too, but with what happened in the past doesn't define the future for them," before adding, "He needs to work on himself a bit more, but it could happen!"
No matter what the future holds for the former couple, we can all rest assure both Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have a number of bangers to soundtrack the range of emotions a relationship can inspire!
