Pete Davidson Joins Instagram; Is He Following Kanye West?

Comedian Pete Davidson is back on Instagram!

The “Saturday Night Live” star has a new Instagram account, right on time to keep up with all of the Kanye Westdrama. After Julia Fox recently called it quits, Kanye has been on Instagram begging his ex Kim Kardashian to take him back.

However, Kim has since moved on with Pete. The two have been linked since February 2021. It’s not clear how serious things are yet, but it’s no secret that Kanye is not happy about Kim’s new beau.

Shortly after Pete created his Instagram account on Wednesday night, Kanye took a screenshot of his page and simply wrote “FOLLOWED” in the caption. The screenshot was deleted only a few hours later.

The “SNL” comedian is only following two people: Kim Kardashian and Marvel actor Sebastian Stan. It remains to be seen if he plans to add any of his fellow “SNL” castmates later on.

This is the first time that Davidson has been back on Instagram since 2018, when he quit the platform due to mental health concerns.

“No there’s nothing wrong. No nothing happened. No there’s nothing cryptic about anything,” he said at the time. “I just don’t wanna be on Instagram anymore. Or on any social media platform.” He added that the Internet is an “evil” place that doesn’t make him “feel good.”

“Why should I spend any time on negative energy when my real life is f---ing lit,” he continued. “The fact that I even have to say this proves my point. I love you all and I’m sure I’ll be back at some point. ? your neighborhood goon, Pete.”

It's an interesting time for Pete to rejoin Instagram, as Kanye has been relentlessly calling him out in a series of all-caps posts before quickly deleting them.

Over the weekend, Kanye started referring to Pete as “Skete” and started mocking him for supporting former presidential candidate Hilary Clinton.

“LOOK AT THIS D–KHEAD,” West wrote in the caption of a since-deleted photo on Instagram. “I WONDER IF INSTAGRAM GONNA SHUT DOWN MY PAGE FOR DISSING HILARY CLINTON’S EX-BOYFRIEND.”

“FOR EVERYONE MARRIED HOLD YOUR SPOUSE CLOSE MAKE SURE THEY KNOW HOW MUCH YOU LOVE AND APPRECIATE THEM BECAUSE THERES A SKETE LURKING IN EVERY DIRTY A– ALLEY WAITING TO HELP DESTROY YOUR FAMILY AND WALK AROUND IN CALVIN KLEINS AROUND YOUR CHILDREN,” he later added.

On Valentine's Day, Kanye made his intentions clear when he sent Kim a truckload of roses. He also made several Instagram posts explaining that he's not giving up on reuniting with Kim.

“I DON’T HAVE BEEF WITH KIM I LOVE MY FAMILY SO STOP THAT NARRATIVE IM NOT GIVING UP ON MY FAMILY,” he wrote in another deleted photo. “I BOUGHT THIS COAT FOR KIM BEFORE SNL I THOUGHT IT WAS PARTICULARLY SPECIAL I HAVE FAITH THAT WE‘LL BE BACK TOGETHER I NEVER HAD ANYTHING AGAINST DAILYMAIL I GOT LOVE FOR EVERYONE IN THE MEDIA AND I WISH YOU ALL THE HAPPINESS IN THE WORLD I SPEAK DIRECTLY TO THE MEDIA OUTLETS THE SAME WAY A BALL PLAYER SPEAKS TO THE REFS THE WORLD IS OUR COURT LIKE A BASKETBALL COURT AND THE COURT OF PUBLIC OPINION WE HAVE A PUBLIC RELATIONSHIP BECAUSE WE ARE PUBLIC FIGURES SO TO THE PUBLIC AND TO THE PRESS SOMETIMES PEOPLE CALL ME CRAZY BUT TO BE IN LOVE IS TO BE CRAZY ABOUT SOMETHING AND I AM CRAZY ABOUT MY FAMILY HAPPY VALENTINES”

Although some people thought that his account was possibly hacked, Kanye clarified matters when he posted a photo of himself holding a yellow piece of paper to reveal that he was, in fact, not hacked.

In another photo, he wrote, “THANK YOU GUYS FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF MY FAMILY MY FAMILY MEANS MORE TO ME THAN ANY OTHER ACCOMPLISHMENT IN LIFE IF ANYONE LOVES ME AND MY FAMILY IF YOU SEE SKETE IN REAL LIFE SCREAM AT YHE LOOSER AT THE TOP OF YOUR LUNGS AND SAY KIMYE FOREVER.”

After several more threatening posts, Kanye posted a few private text messages between him and Kim.

In the texts, Kim accused him of “creating a dangerous and scary environment and someone will hurt Pete and this will be all your fault.” Other messages show her saying, “There are dangerous people out there and this is scary and it doesn't have to be.”

After he posted her text messages, he seemed to have a change of heart and followed it up with another post... without the caps lock.

The post reads: “I’ve learned that using all caps makes people feel like I’m screaming at them. I’m working on my communication. I can benefit from a team of creative professionals, organizers, mobilizers and community leaders. Thank everybody for supporting me. I know sharing screen shots was jarring and came off as harassing Kim. I take accountability. I’m still learning in real time. I don’t have all the answers. To be good leader is to be a good listener.”

West only has two posts on his Instagram page... for the moment. It's unclear how this public feud might escalate now that Pete Davidson has joined Instagram. Stay tuned for more updates!
