Olivia Rodrigo was one of the biggest music names last year. The artist released several songs like “Driver’s License,” “Good 4 U,” which went No 1, and “Déjà vu,” which got a spot among the top 5.

The actress-turned artist bagged over six Grammys at the previous award show, including the four major categories, making her the second youngest to earn that title with Billie Eilish at the No 1 spot. Her “Sour” album also had the most streams for a female album in the U.S.

Rodrigo signed on to new management just weeks before her tour. While a switch so close to a tour date isn’t the best move, no one knows for sure what caused the split with her previous manager. Rodrigo recently signed up with new management. She was previously managed by Kristen Smith but split up right before her debut tour. Via Variety, the Grammy-nominated singer just signed with Lighthouse Management + Media’s Aleen Keshishian and Zack Morgenroth.

The firm reportedly manages huge talents like Jennifer Aniston, Petra Collins, Selena Gomez, Jason Bateman, Paul Rudd, Gwyneth Paltrow, Petra Collins, and Miranda Kerr. It’s known for handling individuals with a foot in more than one entertainment industry sector, which, given Rodrigo’s history, would be beneficial to her.

Rodrigo Dropped Former Manager Weeks Before Debut Tour

According to The Sun, Rodrigo dropped her previous manager Smith just weeks before her debut tour. A source revealed that Smith helped make Rodrigo a star, and she was grateful for it. They also emphasized the tour and its proximity to the management switch.

“It’s never a good time to switch up management but for it to happen so close to a tour is a particular headache,” the source said. They also said Rodrigo was professional about the situation and mainly focused on recording music and her approaching rehearsals.

The artist’s debut tour will kick off on April 5 and have several shows across the U.K. These include the two sold-out shows in Hammersmith Apollo in London in July. Meanwhile, the artist is reportedly busy preparing for the deluxe album of “Sour.”

Rodrigo Is Working on ‘Sour’ Deluxe Album

Rodrigo just might be working on the deluxe version of her record-breaking album “Sour.” An insider affirmed, “No exact date has been set for the release except that it will be before she hits the road.”

While the star hasn’t officially affirmed these claims, fans pointed out an alleged slip-up by Amazon. A fan commented, “Anyone else notice how Sour Deluxe is available for preorder on Amazon? It’s said to release February 4!!!”

Rodrigo also posted a video on Instagram about one of her most popular singles, “Driver’s License.” The post was captioned, “Happy first birthday to the little song that changed my whole life. I made this video a day or two after I wrote drivers license in my living room (with a very squeaky sustain pedal lol).”

She added, “Crazy to think how quickly life changes. thank u to everyone who has supported me so tenderly. music is the most magical thing in the world.” Fans of the artist flooded her comment section, congratulating her on the song turning one.

Rodrigo Bagged Seven Grammy Nominations

Rodrigo crowned her breakout year with seven Grammy nominations for her album “Sour.” This earned her the title of the second youngest artist to get Grammy-nominated in all the four most important categories in the same year.

“Sour” debuted at No 1 when released and was on several Billboard year-end lists. Some of which include the top Global 200 Artist, top Hot 100 Artist, top Overall New Artist, top Hot 100 Songwriter, and top Hot 100 Female Artist.

The artist also bagged the most U.S audio streams for a female debut album. Rodrigo had the most-streamed album by a female singer with over 385 million streams on Spotify. The Disney alum was given the New Artist of the Year award in the 2021 American Music Awards.
