Maralee Nichols Calls Out Tristan Thompson For Lack of Child Support

As headlines began swirling, Thompson was paying thousands of dollars worth of child support to Nichols and his two other baby mamas, Khloe Kardashian and Jordan Craig, the newest mother, cleared the air.

The fitness model who birthed a baby boy for the athlete on December 1, 2021, expressed via her representative that he is yet to provide "any financial assistance."

In the statement given to PEOPLE on Tuesday, February 15, the spokesperson alleged that Thompson was an absent father in his newest son's life, stating:

"Despite news reports stating otherwise, Tristan Thompson has done nothing to support their son. He has not made any attempt to meet their son, nor has he provided any financial assistance."

The source then added, "In the future, we hope that reporters covering this situation contact us to confirm any facts before publishing."

The Blast shared previously that the judge presiding over Thomson's and Nichols paternity case dismissed his Texas filing, which he presented in a virtual hearing, Per US weekly.

Nichols previously filed a lawsuit against Thompson according to California laws, and he sent his, a month later, from Texas.

A source told the outlet that the former lovers had a lengthy relationship spanning various states regardless of whether the conception may have occurred in Texas.

The insider continued, "The child was born in California, the mother resides there, and so does Tristan. It would make sense the judge would dismiss this given the facts and the California lawsuit filed before the Texas one."

Thompson reportedly pays a $40,000 bill as monthly child support for his son Prince and likely owes his second son a similar amount due to his net worth of around $45 million.

Lawyer Morghan Richardson told Hollywood Life that Thompson's child support payment for his other children would determine how much he would offer Nichols' child.

Richardson added, "Reports show that his income is about $10mil, so based on that number, and the report that he's paying $40k per month for his son when I run the calculator, I get an estimate of $34k. Per month."

The lawyer noted a judge would consider other factors other than Thompson's finances, including a review of both parents' monthly income and the amount of time the child spends with them.

Richardson buttressed, "All income, including money/wages, tips, commissions, bonuses, unemployment benefits, interest income, dividend income, rental income, insurance payouts – all of it is fair game for calculating child support."

The lawyer explained that when parties earn very high incomes, the court will usually grant a higher award to ensure the child has a similar lifestyle in both homes.

Thompson previously tried to avoid paying child support and offered Nichols $75,000 worth of hush money in a series of messages between them.

The basketball star said his feelings had not changed, and he would not be in his baby's life at all, so Nichols was wrong to think she could make money off him.

Thompson added that he would be retiring soon, so his monthly fee would be for an unemployed person. He continued:

“So you better off taking this 75k I’m offering cause you won’t get anything near that with having a kid with an unemployed father. All you will have is a baby with a father who has zero involvement with the child and a few hundred dollars of child support a month."

Nichols added, "Houston was one of many nights we spent together. Soon after his birthday weekend in Houston, Tristan invited me to visit him in Boston."
