Mariah Carey came into the scene while Houston was still at her peak and once again blew people away with her vocals. Because of their star power and all-around diva attitude, the two were occasionally compared and said to be in a feud. They ended up collaborating on a song and put those rumors to rest.

Houston was found dead in a hotel in 2012, just a day before the Grammy awards. Now ten years after her death, Carey continues to remember her. The singer took to Twitter to share a picture of the stars and captioned it with a short but sweet message.

Carey echoed the words again in a separate interview with Billboard and said her time recording with Houston was a "bonding experience." She admitted that she was glad to finally put the rumors and speculation about a feud behind her.

The Press Pitted Carey And Houston Against Each Other

The two artists were arguably some of the biggest divas of their time and had the voices to back it up. However, most people didn't think the singers liked each other much. While neither openly refuted nor confirmed this, they made some somewhat shady comments when talking about each other.

Houston got into music when she was a teenager. By the time Carey released her debut single, the "Saving All My Love," singer was already a multi-platinum-selling musician. However, when Carey's debut album sold over 15 million copies worldwide, and Houston's third sold five million, the press compared the singers.

When asked by Jerry Springer about her opinion on the "We Belong Together" artist, she said, "What do I think of her? I don't think of her." Then she added, "Musically, I think she's a good singer," but the damage had been done.
