Comedian Bob Saget passed away suddenly on January 9, 2022.
The "Full House" star died after performing a stand-up comedy routine in Orlando, Florida. That night, he had checked into the Ritz-Carlton Hotel and never woke up. At the time, authorities ruled out drug use or foul play.
About a week after his death, multiple sources had reported that the "How I Met Your Mother" narrator passed away from a heart attack or a stroke. However, new details have emerged about Bob Saget's true cause of death.
Bob Saget Official Cause Of Death Confirmed By Autopsy
TMZ broke the news concerning Saget's official cause of death. Apparently, someone with direct knowledge of the incident told TMZ that Saget had hit his head on something. Authorities are not sure what object he hit but believe it might have possibly been the headboard of his bed.
They report that officials found an "obvious bruise" on the back of his head.
At the time, Bob allegedly did not know the severity of his head injury and went to sleep. He never woke up. Sources report that he passed away from a brain bleed.
A toxicology report confirmed initial deductions by authorities that drug use was not a factor in his death. The toxicology report showed that there were no narcotics or alcohol in his system at the time of his death.

TMZ updated their initial article breaking the news to include a statement from Bob Saget's family, revealing that his cause of death is listed as "head trauma."

"In the weeks since Bob’s passing, we have been overwhelmed with the incredible outpouring of love from Bob’s fans, which has been a great comfort to us and for which we are eternally grateful.
Now that we have the final conclusions from the authorities’ investigation, we felt it only proper that the fans hear those conclusions directly from us.
The authorities have determined that Bob passed from head trauma. They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep. No drugs or alcohol were involved.
As we continue to mourn together, we ask everyone to remember the love and laughter that Bob brought to this world, and the lessons he taught us all: to be kind to everyone, to let the people you love know you love them, and to face difficult times with hugs and laughter.
