The first "Fast & Furious" movie was released in 2001, and the franchise has since become a household name. It's currently on its 10th installment and promises to keep fans on the edge of their seats with the next release.

One aspect of the movie we'll surely miss is Dwayne Johnson. Due to a long-suffering feud with lead character Vin Diesel, the "Red Notice" actor pulled out of the franchise and has no intentions of rejoining.

'Fast & Furious 10' And 'Fast & Furious 11' Will End The Franchise

After the last "Fast & Furious" movie, the main storyline will start from the next installment, "Fast & Furious 10." This movie will be released in 2023, and the production will kick off soon. According to director Justin Lin, the last installment, "Fast & Furious 11," will be filmed not long after.

The "Fast & Furious" franchise debuted as far back as 2001 when Rob Cohen released the original "The Fast and the Furious." Since then, the storyline has gone further than its street racing roots and become more like a high-budget action-adventure franchise.

The last movies of the franchise will take a different turn from the others. Much like how Marvel ended the infinity saga with "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Avengers: End Game," the new movies will do something similar.

"Fast & Furious 10" will reportedly be the first part of Dominic Toretto and the gang's final adventure, and the next movie, "Fast & Furious 11," will wrap it up. The two films will serve as one chapter of the same plot.

Diesel Posted An Update Of "Fast & Furious 10"

The "Riddick" actor posted a video updating fans about the newest movie in the "Fast & Furious" franchise. He revealed that the principal photography for the movie would start pretty soon and that it was only "minutes away."

Diesel also mentioned that the casts in the newest movie would "make this episode really, really, really exciting." However, he didn't go as far as naming said cast. One actor no one should expect in "Fast & Furious 10" is Dwayne Johnson. The actor was in a lengthened feud with Diesel, and it doesn't seem like it'll be resolved anytime soon.

New faces like Jason Momoa from "Dune" and "Game of Thrones" will join the franchise for an undisclosed role. Not much is known about the plot, but Charlize Theron's Viper is assumed to be the chapter's overall villain.

Diesel Told Johnson To Come Back To The Franchise

Johnson and Diesel are currently in a very public feud. The two haven't seen eye to eye for a while now. In one of their most recent issues, Johnson turned down Diesel's invitation to come back to the franchise. He also claimed that Diesel was manipulating him by involving his children and late actor, Paul Walker.

Last November, Diesel took to Instagram to implore the former wrestler to rejoin the "Fast & Furious" franchise. He called Johnson his "little brother "and added that "the time had come." Diesel also said that he promised Walker, who he nicknamed Pablo, that he would make the franchise's finale the best.

Diesel added, "I say this out of love… but you must show up, do not leave the franchise idle you have a very important role to play."

In response, Johnson told CNN, "I told [Diesel] directly that I would not be returning to the franchise. I was firm yet cordial with my words and said that I would always be supportive of the cast and always root for the franchise to be successful, but that there was no chance I would return."

The "Jumanji" actor added, "Vin's recent public post was an example of his manipulation. I didn't like that he brought up his children in the post, as well as Paul Walker's death. Leave them out of it. We had spoken months ago about this and came to a clear understanding."

Johnson Will Be In The Next' Hobbs & Shaws' Movie

While Johnson may have washed his hands off the main "Fast & Furious" movies, he doesn't share the same sentiment with the "Hobbs & Shaw" spinoff series. In an interview with Collider, Johnson's Seven Bucks Productions President Hiram Garcia talked about some development underway for the next installment.

He said, "At the moment, we're trying to figure out what that sequel is going to be, but we have some very big ideas." Garcia also confirmed that Johnson wouldn't return for "Fast & Furious 10 and 11."

"Obviously, all these characters exist in the Fast universe, and we love to see all aspects of that universe thrive and succeed. We just have specific plans for what we want to do with the Hobbs character, and I think the fans are going to love it! We're working to deliver something very unique and fresh, and we know the studio is eager for us to get into it ASAP!" the producer added.
