If there’s one thing we love about Chris Hemsworth — and let’s face it, there’s a lot to love about him — it’s his sense of humor. The man who brings Thor, the God of Thunder to life never takes anything too seriously, and that includes himself. So naturally when he says he’s sharing the “most difficult” stunt from the new Netflix movie “Extraction 2” there’s bound to be a catch.

And what a catch it was.

Hemsworth shared a behind the scenes video from the movie’s set. He starts out shaking his arms, getting ready for something big, and then he spins around and “punches” his way into a jacket that’s being held up by a helpful stunt assistant. He finishes off the move with a kick.

Chris Hemsworth Shares Workouts, Stunts and Family Time

The 38 year old Australian actor maintains a very well balanced social media presence. He’s not known for oversharing on his social media; rather, he posts thoughtfully chosen snaps of his life.

Fans know he puts in the work at the gym to bring Thor to life, but Hemsworth has revealed over the years that each movie has its own training regimen.

In recent posts he’s featured workouts that include chopping wood (after a few attempts), High Intensity Training, punching bag workouts and occlusion training. Occlusion training involves limiting oxygen and blood flow to certain areas of the body to force muscles to work harder. Though uncomfortable, he credits this training technique for helping him make Thor’s arms look “like the legs of a racehorse.”

Hemsworth Knows How To Treat Himself On Cheat Days

Despite his intense training, Hemsworth brings balance to the fore when he posts about his cheat meals and the times he spends eating foods he loves while not training.

During a trip to Los Angeles he posed with a buffet’s worth of food, calling it a “super healthy light meal.”

He also shared a sweet treat with wife Elsa Pataky. “Bubblegum flavoured ice cream dipped in sprinkles wrapped in cotton candy,” he wrote of the blue-colored confection. “4 weeks worth of cheat meals in one hit and no regrets.”

As the father of three young children, there’s no doubt that Hemsworth is confronted with all kinds of sweets and treats when he’s out with his kids. Knowing that the actor follows a strict workout regimen but allows himself a treat every now and then makes him so relatable and even more endearing than before.

‘Extraction 2’ Coming To Netflix In 2022

Extraction 2” is the highly anticipated sequel to the 2020 Netflix hit movie. “Extraction” is based on the graphic novel “Ciudad” by Ande Parks, Joe Russo, Anthony Russo, Fernando Leon Gonzalez and Eric Skillman.

Hemsworth is very familiar with the Russo brothers; Anthony and Joe helmed four movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe including “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Captain America: Civil War,” “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame.” When they needed an actor to portray Tyler Rake, a buff Australian black ops mercenary, they only had Chris Hemsworth in mind.

“Extraction” was generally praised by critics upon its April 2020 release, but it garnered even more attention after becoming the streamer’s most-watched original film to date, amassing close to 100 million views in the first four weeks of a release.

Not surprisingly, a sequel was ordered soon thereafter. By the time production was about to get underway, the pandemic was wreaking havoc on Hollywood studios, forcing the film to move shooting locations from Sydney to Prague.

Netflix offered fans a look at the new movie during the Tudum global fan event celebrating everything Netflix in September 2021.

Given the movie’s success, the Russo brothers hope to turn it into a franchise on Netflix and there’s every reason to believe that Netflix would be on board with that idea given the first movie’s breakout success.

Director Sam Hargrave will return to helm “Extraction 2,” and the script was written by Joe Russo based on Joe and Anthony’s story.

As Hemsworth wraps up his tenure as the God of Thunder, he’ll be able to continue bringing Tyler Rake to life on Netflix, and we’re happy knowing that bringing Tyler Rake to life means more stunt videos to enjoy!
