Cardi B is ready for a fresh start with her fandom.
The rap star’s fan group is called the “Bardigang,” but it appears Cardi is tired of calling them that.
According to Urban Dictionary, “Bardigang” is a fanbase who believe Cardi B is the empress of rap.
Is The Bardigang disbanding?
The “WAP” rapper posted a video using Twitter Voice on Saturday, February 5.
She said, “Hey Bardigang, so, I think I want to change ya name. Instead of Bardigang, I’m thinking of ‘Slutties.’ What y’all think? Y’all like that? Would y’all go for that? ‘Sluttygangs.’”
Her fans heard the message and responded accordingly.
“Guess I’m a slut now 😏💁🏽♀️,” one fan commented.
Another replied, “You can call us whatever you want after you give us the album 🤗.”
Cardi Wants To Rebrand The Bardigang
“I’m howling 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣😭,” someone else wrote along with a Giph of Kevin Hart laughing.
“Slutties it is,” another “Sluttygangs” member wrote.
2022 has been a year of change for Cardi B.
She won her defamation lawsuit against YouTuber, LaTasha Kebe, famously known as Tasha K, who hosts “unWinewithTashak.”
On Monday, January 24, news broke that Cardi’s 3-year-legal fight against Kebe for defamation has finally come to an end. TMZ first shared the good news, noting that the court sided with the rapper’s claims that the blogger spread harmful lies about her on the internet.
New Year, New Cardi!
As you might know, Cardi first took Kebe to court in 2019 after the YouTuber shared several videos accusing the “Bodak Yellow” rapper of prostitution, substance addiction, and being unfaithful for her husband, Offset. Kebe also claimed that Cardi contracted STIs during her days as a stripper.
"By making and publishing the statements, and campaign of harassing videos, including the Defamatory Videos, Defendants were intending to cause Plaintiff emotional distress," the lawsuit stated, and also claimed Cardi B "suffered severe humiliations" and "mental anguish."
After two weeks of deliberation, the gossip blogger was convicted of intentional infliction of emotional distress and invasion of privacy through false public portrayal.
On Monday a jury awarded Cardi B $1.5 million in punitive damages, $1 million for general and $1,338,753.47 in litigation expenses, court papers show. She was also awarded $250,000 in medical expenses, but both parties agreed to reduce that to $25,000.
All in all, Cardi took about $4 million to the bank.
In addition to her big payday in court, Cardi also paid it forward to Bronx families affected by the apartment fire which took 17 innocent lives.
One man named Haj Dukray spoke about how Cardi covered the funeral costs for his five family members tragically taken by the fire.
Haji Dukray spoke to TMZ about the rap star’s contribution. His niece died in the fire along with her husband and their three children.
When asked by a reporter if he had any words for Cardi B, Dukray responded, “I will say, Cardi B you are an angel. I cannot thank you enough. My family cannot thank you enough for what you’ve done. I don’t know you. I’m sure you’ve never heard of my family. For you to step up and do what you did for us at this time, all I can do is pray to Allah for you. Allah give you all your wishes and grant you everything in this world you’re asking for.”
Dukray went on to explain how he has five family members he has to bury, and the financial aspect of burying not just one person, but five, is daunting.
“We all know how expensive that could be. And for me not to worry about the cost at all, was just a huge, huge help and a huge relief for my family,” he explained. “I didn’t know it was Cardi B that was responsible for that. I mean knowing now that she is the one responsible, I just gotta pray for her and thank her for being that angel that really stepped up to help my family.”
