‘Never Gonna Give You Up’
You’re not being Rickrolled! You’re just enjoying one of Rick Astley’s top hits!
“Let’s be honest. Even though we get mad when we get Rick rolled, we never want to see it die,” one fan wrote. “It has become so much of our lives that we can never forget it and it will never die. Truly Rick, we’re never gonna you up.”
“The only song in existence that will never die!” another wrote.
“11 years and almost at 1billion views, the meme that never gives up and never says goodbye indeed,” another commented.
“This is the internet’s theme song can we all agree,” another said.
“This song is legend,” another fan wrote. “Even getting Rick rolled isn’t enough to hate this song. I’ll never give you up️.”
Fans have a lot of thoughts about “Together Forever,” with some calling it a follow-up to the previous song.
“When you get rick rolled so hard that you unlock the secret ending,” one fan joked.
“His songs are like wine,” one fan wrote. “The older they are, the better they get.”
“Whatever it is… Nobody will ever forget Rick Astley and his legendary songs,” another shared.
“Okay but can we take a moment to appreciate the dancers and Rick who worked so hard to make this song?” another asked. “The fashion back then in the 1980s was iconic.”
“I just love to hear Rick sing,” another wrote. “Man what a voice!”
‘Whenever You Need Somebody’
The beginning of the song is oddly reminiscent of “Never Gonna Give You Up,” which has some fans concerned!
“The beginning gave me a heart attack,” one fan wrote.
“In an alternate universe, this is the rickroll song,” another fan joked.
“All memes aside, Rick Astley’s songs are dope,” another shared.
“In case someone’s wondering, not only is the intro drum fill similar to Never Gonna Give You Up, it’s the exact same one with Never Gonna Give You Up using only the latter half whereas this song uses the whole measure,” one fan explained. “I guess it’s from a sample collection the producers had and they liked it so much they didn’t mind using it on two songs (which I’d like to point out are even placed in succession on the album).”
“Now that Never Gonna Give You Up has 1 Billion views, we should use this as the rick roll until it also gets to 1 Billion,” another offered.
“Okay but in all seriousness, Rick Astley’s music is actually great,” another said.
‘Cry For Help’
Definitely a much different sound from some of his other songs! Even still, Rick Astley’s vocals are unmistakable!
“This guy will never gonna give you up and will make you cry for help at the same time,” one fan wrote. “Legend.”
“This song gives me goosebumps,” another fan wrote. “This is my favorite Rick Astley song.”
“Ricks voice is unique, magic, a gift. He could do any song and it would be a hit,” another shared. “Add to that he is an artist who is humble, respectful of his talent. He is compelling as a human being. Keep performing Rick. Your songs take us to happier days. Thank you. Your songs are important and needed. Don’t stop recording.”
Here’s to wishing Rick Ashley a happy 56th birthday with many more to come!
