BTS' Jimin Is 'Recovering Well'

In his first social post since the hospitalization, Jimin assured fans that he was doing well. Per reports, the boy band member took to the Korean social media platform Weverse to release a personal statement about his health status. Jimin wrote:

‘Everyone, you must have worried a lot right? I am recovering well! I’m sorry to have worried you. But, I think I can be discharged soon! I am recovering well too and I am eating all three meals a day. Please wait for just a little, I will return quickly after recovery.

Unfortunately, he was also diagnosed with COVID-19 while in the hospital. Shortly after the hospitalization, the band's record label issued a statement about Jimin's condition and his "successful surgery."

The statement explained that the singer experienced a sudden abdominal pain and sore throat on January 30, which prompted his hospital visit the following day. The record label then added,

According to the medical staff, the surgery was successful and Jimin is currently recuperating after his procedure. He will be receiving a few days of in-patient treatment for COVID-19 in conjunction with postoperative care.

The label concluded, promising to dedicate whatever resources to aid Jimin's recovery as their artists' health was a top priority.

No other member of BTS has been diagnosed with COVID in light of Jimin's diagnosis. The 26-year-old didn't have any physical contact with his group members as they have been on a break since December 2021. It is unknown when the boy group will resume their music activities.

However, during the holidays, three boyband members tested positive for the virus. As we covered, members Suga, RM, and Jin all tested positive but experienced very mild symptoms.

Jimin-Wannabe Influencer

Back in June, Jimin made headlines after an influencer underwent extensive surgeries to look like the South Korean singer. The influencer named Oli London shared a video of him post-surgery where he bragged about his transformation.

London, who had undergone 18 surgeries, was heard saying, "I feel Korean you know. I identify with the Korean community. Maybe they will accept me more now, because I have the look you know? Maybe people will think I'm actually Korean which will make me really happy."

London continued, insinuating he did the surgeries to make Jimin proud, "Jimin is my ultimate idol and I want him to be proud, so I'm sure he'll be proud that I look exactly like him now. I have his eyes. I finally have Jimin's Korean eyes," he gushed.

London took his love for the pop star to another level and later announced his pronouns as they/them/" Jimin." But unfortunately, their enthusiasm wasn't well-appreciated by fans of the BTS Army, who believed their actions were extreme.

London's announcement was met with abuse from the internet, with many saying the real Jimin would not be proud of his actions. Also, since identifying as Korean, London has received death threats and is scared for their life.
