"Spider-Man: No Way Home" was released late last year and managed to become one of the most popular movies of the year. The film is the third installment of the Spider-Man franchise and the end of the Spider-Man trilogy featuring Tom Holland.

On the other hand, Florence Pugh's character, Yelena Belova, was recently passed the Black Widow mantle and made her big debut in the Marvel series "Hawkeye." The actress certainly stole the show after her entrance in episode four.

While the "Black Widow" movie didn't have as much success as "No Way Home," it didn't stop the Marvel hero actors from talking about a possible crossover. Holland revealed that they'd spoken at length about it but hadn't mentioned it to the guys in charge yet. The question of whether this is doable is one no one knows for sure.

Holland And Pugh Talked About A Black Widow And Spider-Man Crossover

Several Marvel movies have taken place in New York. Clint Barton and Kate Bishop went head to head with Kingpin in "Hawkeye," Yelena from "Black Widow" fought Jeremy Renner's Avenger in New York in the previous titles. Another notable Marvel event in New York was when Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield fought off villains in "Spider-Man: No Way Home."

Due to the proximity of all the Marvel heroes, it's no surprise that fans want a crossover. Apparently, fans aren't the only ones who want this to happen. Holland appeared on "The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show" and revealed that the heroes haven't opposed a crossover themselves.

The actor was asked if he was interested in a crossover with Yelena as Black Widow. He replied, "It hasn't been suggested to the big bosses yet, but Florence and I have definitely spoken about it. And hopefully, one day, we can make that happen. That would be very cool."

Could Holland And Pugh Have A Spider-Man And Black Widow In The Marvel Universe?

The premise of "Spider-Man: No Way Home" was Holland's character asking Doctor Strange to erase his identity from everyone's memory. The aftermath brought villains like Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin, Alfred Molina's Doc Ock, and other Spider-Man villains across the multiverse. It also ushered in other Spider-Man characters like Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire.

The spell only affected people that knew Peter Parker previously. Since he's never met Yelena or Natasha Romanov, the spell possibly didn't affect her. This could go a long way in smoothing the heroes' first meeting out.

"Spider-Man: No Way Home" ended with Peter stopping himself from reconnecting with his past friends, so meeting new people, especially heroes like Yelena's Black Widow, is possibly right up his alley right now.

Spider-Man And Black Widow Were Both Near The Rockefeller Center At Almost The Same Time

Marvel missed a prime opportunity for a possible crossover between the two heroes. Towards the end of "Spider-Man: No Way Home" and "Hawkeye," the two heroes shot a scene close to the Rockefeller Center.

Much to the disappointment of fans worldwide, a crossover didn't happen. The "Hawkeye" episode was released only some days after Holland's admission that he wanted to team up with Pugh.

Via Inside The Magic, Holland said, "I wanna work with Florence Pugh; I think she's amazing, so good in [Black Widow], and all the movies that she's done. I think she's fantastic, so I think a really cool Spider-Man-Black Widow movie would be a fun little twist!"

Since he already mentioned it, all Marvel fans have to do is wait and hope that the webbed hero finally teams up with a Marvel superhero besides his Spider-Man predecessors.

Pugh Took Over From Scarlett Johansson

"Black Widow was Scarlett Johansson's last hurrah as Natasha Romanoff, part of the original Avengers. After she died in "Avengers: Endgame," the solo live-action saw the Russian spy unofficially pass on her mantle to Pugh as Yelena.

Yelena was featured in the recent "Hawkeye" series and played a significant role as the show progresses and draws to an end. Due to this, the possibility of a crossover between her and Spider-Man might not be so easy.

Yelena is currently bent on avenging her sister by targeting Clint Barton in the Marvel series, with Parker still tackling the multiverse in "No Way Home." The characters don't seem like they'll be stopping anytime soon. However, the crossover might not be so far out of the way.

Marvel has some upcoming movies with several crossovers in them. One is Wanda Maximoff's appearance in "Doctor Strange 2" and the Guardians of the Galaxy's appearance in "Thor: Love and Thunder." Doctor Strange's appearance was also in "Spider-Man: No Way Home."

All these crossovers show the flexible nature of the Marvel universe. This could fan the hope in MCU heroes like Holland and fans of Marvel who can't wait for the team-up between the heroes.
